I sometimes wonder how these kids made it through high school.

He came back once he decided it was okay to block people.

It's great that we restrict the number of residency slots too. Fixing that seems like a great one-two punch - more pressure on doctor's wages to bring costs down and more trained physicians when we need them.

It's why I voted for her long after she'd dropped out.

Few things would thrill me more than Uline going out of business. They've been a toxic force in local politics for far too long.

Yes, that is exactly what I was getting at. If you drill down deep enough, the "death panels" idea has a kernel of truth. It's just that's still a much better system than a purely market-driven one.

At the root of it all, we have not eliminated scarcity which means that there needs to be rationing of care *somewhere* in the system. The methods we currently use to do it are not ideal, but there's no reality where we don't have to deny somebody care at some point.

My only regret is that now I can't see them to block them myself.

Projected population growth in the city of over 1% annually means the building's gotta happen, combined with upzoning. There's still too many projects that get stalled by lawsuits and zoning.

I'd love to, but my screen clipper is broken and has resisted all my attempts to fix it. Cursed 24H2 update for Windows...

But what if the spaces the ship is traveling are the planes?

I just kinda started doing it by accident because my friend asked if anyone else was going to participate in a conlang challenge this year and I wanted a place to stash my work in a format that others could access it. Once that was up, the friction to throwing RPG posts on there too was very low.

there is also at least one good question for the conspiracy-minded, which is "do you think biden would have preferred to drop out because he was old, or because he had cancer?"

I go out walking a lot and this is usually what I greet people with.

The stats in question are real median incomes, meaning they're adjusted for inflation.

Wow, these are cool!

As a Wisconsin-based I-PASS user, this is a thing that also benefits me.

Looking at those spines is kinda making me wish I got the cloth-bound reprint of Stygian Library, but I have enough books on the shelf already. I didn't need another copy of one I already own!

Turns out shipping from the US is much cheaper than Portugal!

Preferably without taking all the ways neural networks are being used to advance science and our daily lives with it. The people who are so radically anti-AI that they're willing to burn good things down scare me too.

"AI" gets used far too broadly, conflating a bunch of different things. Even the parts of the buzzword that people are usually talking about (LLMs) have some real use cases, but most of what I see them being used to do is generate slop. I'm ready for the bubble to burst.

Imperator: Rome with the Invictus mod is by far my favorite Paradox fix at the moment.

Almost as if they're... reactionaries.

I couldn't secure a copy of my birth certificate and didn't have a passport by the time my previous DL expired, so I had to get one of the old licenses. Now I've got a passport, so I'll just use that when I need to board a flight.

The next election should be in 2027.

Disappointing, but I cannot blame you at all. I hope we manage to turn things around over here, but I fear it's going to get worse until the midterms at least.

The idea of getting social media push notifications horrifies me. I don't even put social media apps on my phone.

I find the comparisons to Fudge/Fate interesting, because I can absolutely see it now that it's pointed out, but that's not how I arrived at it. I was playing around with Torchbearer conditions and I wanted to complicate injury a bit, so I reached for Burning Wheel and worked from there.

This is pretty similar to what I've been working with, though I only have the six slots and injuries are usually the lowest die of 3d6.

One of the reasons that, when I finally started actually drafting my RPG, I started with what I've got on the character sheet.
