Sometimes people are awful, and they deserve bad things 😅

And I have to keep on eating! Every day! (I do love food sometimes, but having to feed myself so often is a bit much)

As I've been shouting for longer than I can even remember now, the ill health of the US information environment is the Ur-problem. No other political problems are solvable until it is addressed. You can't solve problems in reality when most citizens of your democracy aren't living in reality.

actually there’s some great lyrics in there about wanting a revolution! It does get a little overshadowed by the catchy chorus though, it’s true

It’s so good though! I don’t know why I thought it was a ridiculous vegetable for the first 40 years of my life. It’s just so solidly itself.

That’s definitely a valid option! But then I finally realized that I’m just too tired for that anymore. My facebook people can be exposed to a spicy fanfic or two, it won’t kill them. hopefully. lol

To clarify: I had The Hobbit read to me about a year after I read the Narnia series (which was pretty much immediately after learning to read). But I started LOTR just wanting to read more about Bilbo (who was this Frodo guy). I didn’t try again until 2001, and then read the whole series in 3 days.

I know also that part of the problem is that in the past I had a fairly clear divide: fb was for real life friends/family, twt was for fandom friends. And now everyone’s in the same place, but it turns out it doesn’t matter, you can all know my multiplicity of facets, we’ll all be ok!

oh cool, thank you!

Have you considered attaching some fluorescent tape to it? I literally lose things like all the time, I never could have thought of this if it was my own problem…

I very nearly lost three fingers to a bandsaw in college because I went to class before fully processing the news of the day. The ER docs said they could see my tendons, but they weren’t damaged 😳

I’ve learned as a sculptor that I can sketch an idea, but if I try to make a 3D test of concept (aka maquette) all my inspiration will go into that and I’ll feel compelled to do something different and usually worse for the “final piece” 😅

oh no, what did they do?? I’ll go look it up…

Weirdly one of the best AND cheapest is gf Barilla. It’s made with corn as well as rice (if memory serves), so it gives a little variety to the gluten free diet. It’s not something most westerners have to worry about, but rice does have naturally occurring arsenic, especially brown.

I feel very deeply internetty right now lol

lol, him too! But my deep nerdiness is showing, this was actually about my original Kevin Smith, the guy from Xena. Probably took me a decade to switch my default association in conversation over to the guy who did Clerks.

this actually makes so much sense — this started out as a fandom space for me when everyone was leaving twitter, but now my “real life” facebook friends are showing up here too, and I’m not entirely sure what to do about the merging of my worlds 😳

Is it weird that I’m still sad he died? He was so great…

yay toast! I impulsively bought “pumpkin butter” today, I hope I get some magical toast out of it.

I somehow relate from personal experience, but what does that even mean? what’s the right kind of nerd??

I just can’t help it, I’m so curious — how did you previously think it came to be?
