When people say "these tactics are very bad" I want you all to know that there has been a bipartisan commitment to sending police and other military personnel to Israel to train in population control tactics that IDF has honed on Palestinians and that oppression of Palestinians is linked to this

white centrists will look you dead in the eyes & say “it’s not fair to depict ICE agents as cartoon villains” while ICE is Gestapo kidnapping 9 year olds from courthouses.

I agree it's exhausting. I give significant volunteer time to this org and just finished my term as a division chair. They don't make me feel valued, and make me feel like any of the labor i am giving away is worth it anymore.

I agree totally that lots of people are hesitant to embrace the mantle of "trans," but they sure as hell don't think of themselves as cis lol. Including past me for a long time.

Oh thank you for tracking those data down. I have also wondered where tf these assertions came from, and I've always figured it was cis researchers imposing their assumptions onto nonbinary people.

Also fyi, the people who are in the most danger are on the coast. Storm surge happens fast. My families houses got 4-8 ft of water during Helene last year, a nightmare. But going even a few miles inland is all it really takes to get out of dodge. You can ride out wind and rain, not surge.

Fwiw tornadoes scare me a lot more lol. I can prep, watch the updates every 4 hours, and use my best judgement. Tornadoes just happen outta nowhere!!

Grew up in flood zone A (first to flood, directly on the water) of the Gulf Coast. I know how to handle storms, when to bail, and what is safe to ride out. We know what to do and rarely panic. But all of that is dependent on having good forecasts to make decisions! 🤦

Okay I'm laughing at how my phone put in "viscous" instead of "vicious" though

Not even getting into the viscous voter suppression in this state, nor the fact and a ton of people could not vote because they were displaced by the horrific Helene/Milton double whammy

It's truly unhinged. I saw one person say they "hope for a Katrina level disaster" and I'm like do y'all have any humanity

Muting "FAFO" and hopefully that will help minimize seeing these ghouls 🙄
