I made the same journey and it ended with Manjaro manjaro.org. Arch Linux is nice, but I got tired of setting up PCs with the commandline instead of a graphical Installer..

My feeling is that this platform is still young and tries to find its place in the social space. I would not throw in the towel so early, rather be part of the process to make this a good place for everyone.
