Nah, he's holding out. He finds Mastodon is better.

I put it to good use when it rained heavily earlier today!

This came out looking OK, and worked a treat, too! Just a simple frame to hold antennas on the car, and with all the seals fitted, there's no whistles from the roof-bars and the VSWR was spot on! Nice! Just needs a tiny modification to route the coax inside the crossbar. Nice.

It triggers my OCD that "working" is the only word in lowercase in both that sign and the beer bottle! 😂

Haha. It came out well. Now it's inside, as it started to get cold. It can be in the shack tonight.

Yeah I had considered that. If it turns out crap, it'll be out with the sander tomorrow 😂

After I posted this, I was thinking. Pros probably can, because they know what they're doing... 😂 It's just muppets like me that have no clue! This'd look crap if I did it on the best day of the year. Just need it to not look absolutely crazy shiny ally. It's a frame for antennas on the car.

Well underway now, as G3PYE/P...

Shouldn't that be on the main PCB!? 😂

I remember changing from Windows XP to Debian/Knoppix in around 2002 and the Ubuntu a bit later. I returned to Windows 7 when I started at Arm, and remember re-learning Windows. It was a strange experience. 😂 I'm pretty familiar with both (and Mac OS, too) but Linux is my favourite.

Will do, but it won't be too soon.

Yeah I think it's a self resonant point. When I get some time, I'll stick the layout in Ansys HFSS and see what causes it. Needs a layout tweak, I suspect. The SNR still seems to be better in that region, despite the raised noise floor, so it hasn't been a priority for me.

Have a look through my follow list! There's mostly radio hams. 😂 There are also 'starter packs' for ham radio.

The old SNP vs RUN thing!

I certainly struggled to hold mine at various points! ;)

Hope to work you a bit later, OM!

Zizzi for me. Sofia Rustica. Same issue though! Pricy.

They make good gear. I chose Bosch based on the fact my washing machine is nearly old enough to buy alcohol, and I've never had to touch it! It just works! Tumble dryer is the same. I was just shocked at the price. Like ~€1000 for a foam box and a tiny compressor! 🙈
comment in response to post
Yeah. Exactly. All the while, it's part of some BotNet sending spam emails! 🙄
comment in response to post
Nah. I went Bosch. But, only Serie 4. Not the boujee ones. Thankfully no WiFi, no cameras, etc., and still pricy! Like £900! 😑 For a pump and a box. 😲

Yup.

I think today is your limit... 😂

Hopefully #2.

Yes, very similar views! Lots of snow forecast for this evening up that way? Take it easy!

That's no different to how you usually make QSOs!
comment in response to post
Who remembers QSO365 😂

Just trying to get out and about when not in the office! Otherwise I sit in front of a computer all week at work, then all weekend at home. 😂 Down side is I moved house recently, and the main incentive was antenna space! 😂
comment in response to post
Thanks. Still haven't gotten feeling back in my nose! 😂

I dunno. I suspect they'll need proper software support for it to use it commercially. Integration with other tools, etc. That said, there are a few big companies here now, so the tools must exist.

Tr*mp. 20 Jan 2025. Not sure I can handle him and El*n chirping on any longer.

The Grandees of the RSGB are here. When I asked in person, I was told they're aware and are waiting to see how things move forward.

Likewise. I was thinking when T is fully in, I'd go QRT there. There is some content I'd miss. But I just don't need the life-admin of 3 'Twitters', and Twitter/X has become the least good one!

20m and spot yourself on POTA.app - you'll get a burst of activity for 30-60 minutes. Then spot yourself again, change band, go home! 😂
comment in response to post
Oh, absolutely. Just hadn't expected the architecture what it was. Cool!

I'd never really thought about them at all, really. I just plugged mine in, and they've worked!
comment in response to post
There are #hamradio callsigns on some of them 😂 that's about as covert as it gets.
comment in response to post
Yeah, I think that may be it. 🤷‍♀️ I have the standard one, and couldn't see any main differences 😂
comment in response to post
Correct. They are just filler letters. Though on mine they all have an LED behind. My clock scrolls the temperature and time across the panel, too...

I hadn't realised they were just an LPC4370 SoC and a TV tuner front end. Interesting.
