DT is NOT conservative. Nor is the MAGA movement. They are reactionary, which is very different. The US hasn’t had a properly conservative party in my lifetime. I’m so far out in left field that US politics can’t even see me, but there are still some traditionally conservative issues I support.

That’s why I say a splinter cell of Republicans espousing actual conservative values (not US “conservative”) would do well. Folks are mad at DT, but they are also mad at Dems for their part in bringing this about and their shameful lack of real, material opposition.

Try giving them constant and obsessive attention for a while (probably no more than a week) and I bet you they’ll calm down. That behavior usually happens for exactly the reason you would suspect: they want/need your attention and feel they are being ignored so attention seeking behavior increases.

That really IS a crying shame. If an offshoot of the Republican Party decided to stand for actual conservative values (conserving our natural resources, rule of law, strong individual and state’s rights, actual fiscal responsibility, etc.) they could probably sweep the next election.

Those were never their real beliefs. They were campaign lies.

Any citizen who wants an alternative to the current administration’s policy of deconstructing our government and rolling back our civil rights.

At what point does this level of intentional destruction of our nation’s ability to function become treason?
Just curious

We’re just gonna have to agree to disagree. I don’t torture people unless they beg me to.

The were NOT sentenced to being utterly dehumanized and tortured until they die. Not even death row inmates deserve that. NOBODY deserves that.

I must’ve missed the part of the scriptures where Yeshua ben Joseph told his followers to cast out the stranger and torture the prisoner 🤔

Yeah, and we all know how well Trump follows court orders 😒

Since we’re just ignoring laws about discrimination now, can someone found a town where straight, white, Christian men aren’t allowed to live? I would like to move there.

Worse. The Taliban have holy laws and scripture that theoretically constrain what they are allowed to do. It can be used as a tool to promote moderation and humane behavior. The current reich’s only god is money, they have NO shame, and respect no laws. They view morality and empathy as weaknesses.

No. They’ll just rewrite history, again. Stop expecting rational consistency

It’s always voluntary. They can’t force you to write the memo. You decide if you are going to or not. The decision of how you will act ALWAYS belongs to you. If you will do this to keep your job, be honest, and examine where your lines are. It’s important to know.

And the fact that they ONLY removed the tariffs on Canada … 🤦🏻♀️ Instead of actually rebuking him it’s more like they said, “Not THIS one, Daddy! It’s our favorite!”

They aren’t there to talk sense. They’re there to make loyalty oaths so that they survive. Only corporations with government contracts and/or relief funds will outlast what’s coming. It will effectively purge the private sector of opposition.

It’s not unhinged. It’s intentionally malicious. They can’t have their dictatorship until they destroy our existing government.

That’s because everyone assumes his goal is to actually run the country well and meet at least some of his campaign promises. It’s not. He’s burning it down ON PURPOSE, and his economic policy is PERFECT for that.
comment in response to

Yeah. This is the goal. People need to stop being shocked at Trump’s “blunders” and realize that his GOAL is to burn it all down

The goal is to burn the economy to the ground, purge the market of opposition through selective application of government aid, and then plant an oligarchy in the ashes

It’s not a bug. It’s a feature.
Their GOAL is to completely break the US government, and they are, unfortunately, doing a fantastic job.

Or they stand to benefit from a tanked market when they know their buddy DT will keep THEIR company afloat with government subsidies while they buy up all their struggling competitors and establish cushy monopolies.
comment in response to
post
It’s intentional. Tanking the US market lets Trump pick which businesses survive or die by who he gives government relief funds to: purging the civilian/corporate sectors of opposition and setting allies up to buy up competitors and property at fire sale prices.

It’s not incompetence. It’s an intentional method to make it harder to subpoena information and, even if it is located and subpoenaed, to make said information not meet legal standards for proof.

The wheels of justice could be burning rubber and it wouldn’t matter. This reich has nothing but contempt for the courts or the people. They will not stop until they are physically forced to stop, so until these court orders start actually getting backed up by officers and guns they’re worthless.
