@mithradatesvi.bsky.social “I finally decided on a Mother’s Day present, so if there is a package on Monday, you didn’t see it” Me: Monday? Him: Yes? I stare at him. Him: When’s Mother’s Day? Me: Sunday. Him: I’m getting a calendar for Father’s Day, aren’t I.

Question for the community. What is the right play when the cops are detaining what seems to be a normal tradesperson on your very quiet suburban street?

Me on rainy days: “Oh to curl up on the couch with a tea and read a book” Me on snowy days: “Oh to curl up on the couch with a tea and read a book” Me on sunny days: “Oh to lay out in the hammock with a lemonade and read a book” I don’t think it’s the weather!

The amount of play food in my house had gotten out of control. So I put together a grocery shelf for Little Bit. One laundry cart, and a few bins and baskets and now we have a manageable system, I hope!

Little Bit and I went grocery shopping today and as I was fastening her car seat I said “thank you for being a good kid at the grocery store” To which she responded “thank you for being a good parent at the grocery store” Not sure if that was audacity or a level of kindness I don’t understand.

Our 10 year old fridge has been showing signs of failing for the past few months. And I’ve just been waiting for a good deal so I could replace it on my terms and not also loose all the food in it. The new one is getting delivered this morning so it was clean out the fridge morning!

Happy independent book store day! Find your local store and go shop today!

Need to get cleaning etc done this afternoon with no motivation. At least I can have good tunes!

I’ve been looking for hazelnuts to make chocolate biscotti for a few weeks now. I’ve not been able to find them at any of my standard grocery stores. Is there something affecting the availability of them?

Little Bit has decided that it is time for another tea party, these are our tea cups, with straws. I don’t want these days to end. I always want her to bring me some tea and talk about her day!

My mom and dad are coming to visit us next weekend. And this is what my mom said about meals while they are here: “I know your dad likes to go out and eat at restaurants, but I much prefer to just eat in at your house” 🧵

Bunny cupcakes for Little Bit’s school party tomorrow! I let her pick between bunny faces and bunny butts. She also declared she wanted “banana cupcakes” but when I told her that wasn’t a flavor option settled for vanilla.

I think the solution to this is obvious: we drive people to clinics in Telsas.

Project update! I got some more sewing in on Little Bit’s Easter dress. As of now it’s ready to wear, but I’m still considering adding an iron on appliqué to the skirt. I did find these most adorable heart buttons in my button box for the closure!

Progress in Easter Dress for Little Bit! I’ve got some yellow fabric in the wash to add a Peter Pan collar. I’m also likely to add some trim to the bottom of the skirt. And maybe a bunny vinyl appliqué a’la poodle skirts.

This might not be the darkest timeline, but it's undoubtedly the dumbest.

Not even Palm Sunday and I’m already working on Little Bit’s Easter dress! She chose this jelly bean fabric from Joann a few weeks ago. I’ve cut a double circle skirt, standard bodice, and flutter sleeves. The skirt is already stitched together with pockets inset. #sewingsky

Little Bit and had a friend over for a play date. They decided to get married and this was their wedding cake together.

When it’s been such a long day that your brain feels like it’s melting 🫠 But your Good.store order arrives and it has a free bookmark with it!

Just to add some numbers and historical references to all the figures you are going to be seeing in news articles today. In 1929 the US stock market had the largest single day drop, the DOW Jones fell 13% on October 28, 1929. Before that day the highest the DOW had ever been was 381 points. 🧵

Little Bit and I joined a local protest today. She enjoyed spending time with the “Loud People” as she called the other protesters.

When you try for the Cool S score on your bread! One side blew out a little, but it was still more fun that the pretty basic wheat I usually do. #bredsky

Sitting in my home office thinking man what is smelling good. Oh yeah! I put beans in the slow cooker at lunch time with the ham hock I found on sale. Love when I forget that I have made things easier for future self. Also a pot of beans is better than wax melts any day! #potofbeans

Just finished listening to The Martian Contingency by @maryrobinettekowal.com and it was an EXCELLENT book. I always love reading about the Drs York and their trials and tribulations in building a safe home for humanity. Also enjoyed the sneaky Doctor Who reference near the end.

A few years ago I tried sorrel at a Jamaican restaurant and fell in love! Though it is traditionally a holiday drink, I feel like it is one of the most refreshing summer drink. This is the second time trying to make it at home.

Two years ago @mithradatesvi.bsky.social got me a picnic backpack hoping to encourage us to go on more picnics as a family. I planned a park picnic after church, got packed up and ready, and at that *exact moment* the weather turned and it was 55 degrees with a strong wind. Car picnic time!

Severance thoughts ⚠️ spoilers I’m re-watching S1E1 after the season 2 finally. About 20 minutes into the episode Mark tells Helly - “There is a life to be had here.” They have been heading to this ending for 20 episodes.
