I thought David Samson had an interesting theory (around 11:15 of his podcast - www.youtube.com/live/9xB4he0...) - might this be connected to the possible closing of the owner's tax loophole, or rescinding anti-trust exemption?

Last time I caught the Cats in Vegas was during a Thanksgiving tourney 11 years ago and we got womped by the UCLA at Orleans Arena. How bad was it? Chier Ajou and Aaron Liberman got run.

That was thanks to OSU's incredibly off night from 3FG. They usually hit 38%, but were 13% against us. If they strung together a couple, paired with our shaky press break, they coulda got back into it. But, super happy for the fellas.

You right! Been awhile since we've led wire to wire like that, right? That being said, I never felt comfortable. (I've always said - 20 point lead is the most dangerous lead in college hoops).

I believe the intent was both from a cost standpoint (is it worth booking an extra night at United Center for a 15 v 18; 16 v 17 doubleheader?) I also imagine that they wanted to prevent teams 16-18 harming conf. bubble teams prospects. But yeah, I'm down for "Survival Sunday" coming to the B1G.

No greater hypocrisy than yelling all day about how meritocracy has been killed by diversity programs in job hiring, then putting profoundly unqualified people in legitimately important positions

Agreed. It's such a vague name - like the kind you'd fall back using in a commercial because you couldn't get the official league licensing.

For real - I lack the right words to describe his writing, but I'll try "humane skepticism." So lucky to have him on the Cubs beat, and HOF voting authorization is deserved.

As usual, you're spot on. And yet another reminder not to get sucked into the rage-bait that "INSERT TEAM NAME twitter" feeds on - particularly during the off season.

I remember watching him when my Bears drafted him, and just marveled at how he ran so angry - like the ground owed him money. He'd punish tacklers, and just keep fighting for more yards. I loved watching him run and hated to see him leave, AND didn't know how sustainable that style would be.

Case study: latter stage Cody Rhodes run in AEW prior to his jump to the Fed.

Yeah, the Cubs have definitely acquired great players through trades (Ramirez, DLee, Arrieta/Strop, et al) - but Tucker is probably the best player w/r/t in that moment of being traded. Those dudes are rarely available, much less the Cubs have the right players/savvy to execute.

Need Vermont's version of Delia Smith to drunkenly agitate the Catamount faithful with a "LET'S BE 'AVIN YA!"

Conceptually, I like Abe silhouette looking at Illinois silhouette, but it doesn't look as great. Otherwise, the rest are OK. Also, not feeling Abe Silhoutte + State + stars. It's fine, but just too clip-arty.

Hard to believe Collins couldn't convince Dr. P to set up a temporary hoops facility with vibes modeled after "Bloodsport" Kumite.

Only if it's first year MLS style when the taker started at halfway and had to run 30 yards.

Love being able to apply that well earned skill here as well.

Too much this season I feel like I'm watching one long awful game over the course of a weekend.
