The new video details layout is also available on macOS, which will be great for organizing and taking notes on the WWDC sessions coming out next week.

I’ve also added the ability to setup Channels Inbox filters using multiple keywords. This lets us include or exclude topics based on the video title and description, either globally for all videos or individually by channel.

Search had been bugging me for a while too. I rewrote it to find items across the entire app, not just the currently selected list, and it’s now faster and more efficient than ever. The new architecture is also flexible enough to support advanced features in the future, like natural language search.

I haven’t checked “Shared With You” in a while, but I believe it only works with content shared from the app—so it would only apply if I set up a custom URL scheme for Play and users shared content through that scheme.

The main view doesn’t support drag and drop, but you can drop items into lists like "New" or any specific tag.

For the playback speed on macOS, the available options are the built-in speed control in the player itself, the Shift+< and Shift+> keyboard shortcuts, or the global setting found in Settings → Player.

Thanks! Play is only available via the App Store, so I don’t think it is possible to install it via Homebrew.

Top Charts is designed to help you explore and preview popular songs. It’s a great way to discover new artists that you might like. To pause playback, tap the album artwork in the horizontal list at the bottom of the screen (or simply close the modal).

It also brings minor improvements such as a list view mode for artists, reorganized sidebar on iPad and Mac, and bug fixes.
It’s been fun working on it over the past few months, and I hope these new features help you keep up with your favorite artists, discover new ones, and remember old classics!

Another common cause is if they’re marked as watched, but the “Show Watched” setting is disabled, then they’ll be hidden.

They should automatically sync, just like the videos do. Do you see the sidebar in the list of videos? You can configure it in Settings → Show Sidebar.

Unfortunately, no—it’s either all actions or nothing for the moment.

Hi! Yes, this is an issue with the YouTube app itself. It seems to be sharing incorrect data, preventing other apps from recognizing it. That is why not only Play, but no other apps appear in the share sheet at all. They should probably fix this in an upcoming update.

Yes! You can go to Settings → Start Screen and enable the “View Actions” to get a button for playing a random new album, or even add a dedicated Control Center button that does this.

Yes! You can follow a playlist in Channels Inbox to have the videos you add appear in your Play’s inbox. Just make sure to configure your YouTube playlist to always add new videos on top.
