"We have entered a new period of uncertainty, with implications not only for the housing sector writ large but also for local communities, the functioning of federalism, and more." www.thenewlocalism.com/newsletter/a...

There will be a Hands Off Housing event featuring Maxine Waters hosted by the NLIHC outside the Weaver Building 451 7th Street SW on Monday March 3rd at 5PM.

Um what? 780 people is definitely not 83% of HUD. Do better CNN! We may end up there but we’re not there yet. www.cnn.com/politics/tra...

Going to abuse the doctor analogy. HUD is the nation’s housing doctor. We evaluate, maintain, treat and sometimes even step into heal the housing market or entire community after a disaster. Housing represents a significant % of GDP. When this doctor steps away everyone will suffer.

Re recent OMB memo by Vile: HUD basically shuts down completely during a shutdown i.e. none of us are essential. Have fun playing roulette with the nation’shousing market. I’m sure it will come out golden.

HUD is planning to transition to a regional model. This will mean vast areas of the country will have little to no oversight or support and even less ability to understand local needs and policies.

HUD serves nearly corner of the country. It is one of the few Agencies that directly interfaces with local communities through its Field Offices. FPM is the division that coordinates and connects the rest of HUD to local communities and the general public. RIFs to FPM= less customer service.

More reductions in force are coming next month. This is regarding the good folks at HUD.
