The Austin storm was bad. Just took a walk. Not a screen spared in the whole block. Most plants gone. The wind knocked down small trees and broke big ones. Saw three wooden fences down. Lost count of busted windows. All mine survived. Hope y’all are safe!

11:51PM update: The Texas Senate education committee is just now resuming testimony on bills. There are students who've been waiting +12 hours to testify on legislation that directly affects them. Others have had to leave without testifying because they don't have a half-day of "sitting around" time

They blame pollution but cut the EPA and clean air and water regulations. They blame poor nutrition but cut SNAP and programs to bring local produce to schools. They blame increased screen time while destroying public infrastructure that connects people. All while they take millions off healthcare.
