The entire "group of young freedom fighters opposing an oppressive force" argument is just a very surface level understanding of Harry Potter and sadly a way too common tactic used to defend the problematic aspects of the franchise, which many of the defenders may find really appealing.

I'm very shocked about Schaffrillas and his main subreddit being so toxic towards Shrek 5.
Luckily r/schaffrillasoffmenu (a way better subreddit) condemns any harassement towards the Shrek 5 crew.

I 100% agree with you on the redesigns. They look nothing like Disney. Donkey's redesign could easily fit in with the main character group from The Secret Life of Pets.
