The most embarrassing time to be alive I swear

Once upon a time (let's say 2012) even a minor pundit using the r-word generated a week of critical stories, bipartisan pushback, Special Olympics using its undeniable oomph to push back in public fora, adults with Down syndrome on NPR, and more.

The 4 hr plane ride became 7 due to icing delays. My dysautonomia went into mega overdrive. It’s been a rough 24 hrs & I’m not sure travel is worth even this

Bless his heart

when you travel like we do and often hit tiny poor towns where every house has a tarp over its bashed in roof and some people have never had running water or electricity but their police stations are state of the art and churches are on every corner you know this country is shit

I think this is instructive. To guys like Vance, being told they need to change is exactly the same thing as when they destroy people's entire lives. Because their right as men is to do whatever they want and never be confronted.

Finally after DECADES of having dysautonomia and POTS I got a beta blocker. It only took me possibly having a heart attack to get an Rx.

Honestly - while he is banana pants and nothing he says can be trusted - I'm gonna bet he does not know/understand the difference in Medicare and Medicaid half the time and just spouts off stuff as he's known to do. As a parent of a disabled adult child reliant on Medicaid, I'm terrified

He’s not making up: news.bloomberglaw.com/banking-law/... Is this really what y’all voted for? 🫤 💰

“The agency is proposing to shut down one of the channels for distributing them, COVIDTests.gov, on Tuesday night, according to the agency officials and internal documents.”It’s still open! Place your order now! wapo.st/42VLGQh

An important point to keep in mind.

(📢) This is an ASK ME ANYTHING (AMA) post—my first one in over a year, I think. Ask me any question, on any topic, and I will answer it honestly. (The only rule here is that you have to retweet this post before you ask your question, so that there will be at least _some_ audience for the answers.)

Not to mention the subtle ableism there...

Yes, but also minus the enslavers.

I'm getting on a f'n plane THIS WEEK and I am not excited about it at all.

Happy President's Day to everyone but the enslavers and DJT - I refuse to even type his name. Fk those dudes.

A lot of this stuff *is going to happen* but as a healthcare voter & rare disease advocate I can tell you they ARE COMING FOR THE ACA and soon. I would say by June it's going to be on the block; and they will chop away at it bit by bit if nothing else. (aka age 26 provision challenged)

Surround yourself with the kind of people who find the Oxford comma to be illuminative, beautiful, and necessary.

I didn’t think it was possible for me to despise someone as much as I despise Trump, but here I am.

As a mom to 2 (now adult) children with an ultra rare disease, this breaks my heart into pieces. There is also a potential therapy for our kids, but even growing their own stem cells in a lab is too cost prohibitive for our family (x2 kids)

Boomers largely don’t realize that Medicare does NOT pay for nursing homes. That is Medicaid, if you can’t private pay. They are in for a rude awakening & their kids (GenX) are too.

Encyclopædia Britannica will continue to use ‘Gulf of Mexico’ for a few reasons: -We serve an international audience, a majority of which is outside the U.S. -The Gulf of Mexico is an international body of water, and the U.S.’s authority to rename it is ambiguous. 🧵⬇️

My child has arthrogryposis. It’s the same medical syndrome Serge has. And my parents & in-laws still voted for the man. Knowing that their granddaughter and he shared the same diagnosis. I just absolutely cannot understand how. I never will.

If you told me 30 years ago that the richest man in the world was arbitrarily cutting govt spending as he saw fit, I'd be concerned. If you also told me he was South African, not elected to any position, most definitely on drugs, and very angry because he felt mistreated, I guess I'd be terrified.

Gulf of America y’all! 🙄

Even though Rubio promised life-saving aid wouldn't be interrupted, it has essentially been halted worldwide, interrupting HIV and TB treatment and threatening millions of lives. People are dying today because of these chaotic, inconsistent stop work orders. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/12/u...

This is an excellent and very important read this morning. the.ink/p/surviving-...

Mitch McConnell voting no on terrible cabinet picks because he doesn’t have to run for reelection is all the proof you need that we must have term limits. You shouldn’t only have a spine because you don’t have to run again. We are breeding chicken shit power hungry electeds.
