As someone that's on snap now
And years ago was homeless (just life not anything else) this is true
And I had a two year old I could not buy hot food in the deli (and still can't 💀) this is so true
Sad part if I actually could have made a campfire I would have
I will buy homeless something to eat or drink I will not give them cash unfortunately I have been burned on that they lied and bought liquor and cigarettes
At the time it was my last 10 $ and I had a 3 year old at the time
And I've been homeless years before tho I never asked ...
Umm I'm poor and was poor than too 💀 I was on public transportation it was the last 10$ I had all month also messed me up because I had to borrow 10 $ from my grandmother to by rice and beans .and transportation costs .I had at the time a 3 yr old ...Soo......yea💀😒🤷😬
No it explains why people don't like to give money but most of feed them or help them in other ways if they are hungry or cold thirsty .. if I had the money I'd house them ..alas I don't have that kind of money .
The point is that people don’t even hesitate to keep their mouth shut about the morals of the rich & connected, but they won’t give a homeless man .01 because he might buy beer. Pete Hegseth anyone, who said he wouldn’t drink while confirmed and was recently seen sipping while talking to the media?
Your well being and ability to give is irrelevant to the government’s several trillion dollar budget. You don’t understand how much that is and the rich and corporations take advantage of that. Doesn’t need to be any homeless people in the richest country on the planet. & it’s not immigrants either
personally id welcome an "expert" to come and go over my finances. i can lay it all out here , most people would be amazed that two people can survive on less than a $1000 a month, its not easy and we dont have alot , clothes mostly , we need clothes, but my mom moved in with us so she is helping.
after all the bills are paid , we have maybe $200 left, but we also have pets and need cleaning supplies and pet food , so there goes that $200. after that is maybe $20, cant even afford to fix our car. been stuck at home for over 6 years now. So please financial experts come find my waste.
You seem to have access to a phone or computer--perhaps you can find a way to augment your income?
I've lived VERY close to the bone. It sounds like that's where you're at. I wish you the best.
Also, Burnie wouldn't have been able to get his "free stuff" passed or paid for. You might have put your eggs into the wrong basket if you voted for him.
The richest man in the world is telling us how to pinch our pennies is a bit "rich." But then again, they're doing away with pennies altogether. I wonder how much that will raise prices when everything goes from $1.99 to $2.00? That makes a difference for some people. 🤔
Probably because rich people spent their money on articles and "think pieces" blaming a lack of financial responsibility for the existence of poor people. They are obfuscating the facts about how the system is rigged in their favor to the disadvantage of everyone else.
It doesn’t seem to matter whether they were jerks before or not , I’m more wondering if that much amount of money messes with their brain in a concerning way. Like extreme depression, alcoholism, drug use or self harm. Some of the few.
But I would guess that at the pit of that is an endless dark well of emotional neediness. For praise, validation, the show of friendship that they have no way to know if it is real. Doesn't excuse the things they do, but it does explain it.
I don't see that in the study. Though children of the very wealthy may... the 'Dark Triad' would be unlikely to lead to grade A parenting. More like.. narcissism, inflated egos, disassociation from the 'common folk', an extreme form of 'Good stuff happens to me because I'm worthy'.
I mean, I was just naming some side effects for mental illness. I think when you’re constantly being told ur entitled to everything and the world is yours, shit can hit the fan when it doesn’t. I seen it with my spoiled nephews.
What's interesting is the 2 current examples (though one is not a billionaire), Trump and Musk, have something interesting in common. Both come FROM money, but had fathers who DESPISED them. A toxic combo of public entitlement, and parental disapproval. So, egotistical, but also needy for approval.
It costs more to be poor in this country. The late Barbara Ehrenreich told us about in her book, Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America. Fines, late fees and higher interest rates keep people from climbing out of the poverty trap. Yet, the rich blame it on character. The system is rigged.
The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars.
But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars.
But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time,
while a poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.
This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socio-economic unfairness.
Interestin’!
Have never told the less wealthy how to spend their pennies.
This social trend has escaped me?
I most certainly tell
Everyone who will listen
How I think My $ should be spent, lol.
That’s right Jack and btw the more I make the more I give back.
Not just me.
Not all rich folk suck!
The number of people over the years who have essentially thought they could dictate to me how to spend my paycheck because the money is really theirs (i.e. taxpayers) is ridiculous.
I keep reminding myself (and others) that once I pay my taxes, it's no longer MY money. It's OUR money. And through our elected representatives, WE have to decide how WE will use it.
Republicans... seem to think that it's still their money and only they individually get to say where it goes.
Not to mention how much we frequently get to decide whether they eat healthy food or not. “Food stamps shouldn’t pay for them eating snacks and junk food.” As I swallow down another burger.
Also, the rich are far more frivolous with "their" money. Look at how much money Elon lost on his acquisition of Twitter. Poor people actually know how to handle money because they need to.
I grew up hearing that Democrats are evil. I still hear that today. I don't know why that started. I assume it has to do with abortion here in the Bible Belt, but it's been enough to get people to vote against their own interests for decades. I would love to change that perception.
Republicans are like well trained dogs with the rich. I recognized that the first time I heard a guy who punches the clock complaining about “too much regulation”. Like it was his personal burden instead of the corporation. Regulations kept his job site safe, his water drinkable and air breathable
There is no hording of wealth. It is just not being used the way you wish. It is not a pie anyway so it has no effect on you but the economy benefits from the investments.
Thanks, I often misspell when typing and do not catch it. No I am a never trump but am old and do not type as well as I used to and make lots of mistakes but what I said is accurate.
Gotcha, please excuse my jump to a conclusion then, I'm rage posting and sometimes I see things that aren't there from my anger. My apologies. I'm sorry.😟
You might not catch your typos, but that whole “it’s not hoarding, it’s just not being used the way you want it to be” rhetoric is disingenuous and plain wrong. It IS hoarding when billionaires just leave their money in their offshore accounts instead of paying their fair share of taxes.
There is a whole lot invested in America also and that means it is working and helping our economy. According to Forbes 9 of the top are here in America. Yes get rid of loop holes and have them pay taxes - does not change what I said.
Your argument would be sound had those billionaires not created that wealth by lobbying the government to institute tax loopholes and lower their burden to relatively infinitesimal levels.
This stifles local growth & results in ALL of us paying higher percentages of our wealth relative to theirs.
Actually, the billionaires effectively suck money out of the system, leaving less capital in the system for it to function well. Billionaires hoard money in the form of bonds, gold, crypto, stocks, art works, property... None of that money is being actively put to work. It effectively disappears
That is probably true but money is infinite and is created all the time so it does not harm anyone. I have already said it is in stocks/bonds and investments but the rest is probably true also. But how does that harm anyone? It does not stop them from creating their own wealth.
It means there is less money in the system overall. Less money for business loans, less money for investments, less money to employ people, which leads to even less money... so yes, they do a lot of harm
Money is so inflated now, I just do not see how that is possible. But not an expert. From what I can see it appears that loans are being looked at more realistically - as they should. Jobs have been going up.
I have a degree in political science including economics so not an expert either, but you might be interested to look into why many economists are saying billionaires are the problem who are going to destroy capitalism. Its all about having sufficient money to grease the wheels.
Being poor is more than their income or lack of it thereof, it is also their mentality, part of being port is living in the present, the consumerism of the moment and the scarcity of the tomorrow. So yeah, poor people need to be told how to spend their menial wages.
And it’s very correct to instruct anyone using taxpayer funds like welfare and federal housing how they should. The wealthy have earned what they have and are independent. You’ve always been a self absorbed tool.
The only reason I can think of that you people have your noses, stuck up the billionaires butts as you think they’re going to give you some of it. You’re going to be extremely disappointed.
And, I believe what you’re looking for is, I give dumbass a bad name. If I gave it a good name, that would mean that I looked really good doing it. Which I would, of course, if I did dumbass. Which I don’t. Because I don’t have my nose, stuck up a billionaires butt
I’ll go out on a limb and say Investments, real estate, business ventures…. Not designer bags and depreaciating assets. Sure once you make it you can buy some of that shit but that’s not gonna make poor people rich.
Keep going, this is a Project

It's the little people who'll win this
In fact, I and a few others had this very conversation yesterday—in reference to the SNAP program. Many took it upon themselves to dictate what recipients of the SNAP program should not be able to purchase.
That is so sad... Snap should cover everything they need or that they want... There should be no limitations. If it makes their life just a little bit better that's all I want it to do
TBH, $2 per person per meal isn't enough for a nutritious diet.
Keep in mind SNAP comes from the Department of Agriculture -- it's basically a subsidy for farmers. So does WIC. Did you ever wonder why families on WIC get so damn much milk??
Goddamn liars. This article is pure, unadulterated bullshit. Cutting SNAP and leaving it "up to the states" means people in red states would starve thanks to ignorant ass Republicunt state legislatures who think the poor deserve to suffer.
And they cost quite a bit. Not even sure, food banks distribute a lot of those products. The idiot dictating this should be left without those essentials for just a week. There’s hardly any written newspapers left to wipe his/her ass.
When you remember that our country was founded on the patriarchy, it all makes sense. Men don't need menstrual products. They only need toilet paper when they take a dump. You'd be amazed at how many of them wash their hair with body soap. They don't think about it because they don't care.
The same applies to role of government. We CAN do better, we MUST do better. D's have to communicate this message, a NEW D party, lean , smart, efficient patriotic govt that includes all including all , break the MAGA fever
A government will give thousands, even millions, to businesses and never ask the management to submit all of their assets, living expenses, or require drug tests.
The poor class and the renter class overlap by a lot. As do the rich class and the landlord class.
Unless you are in a housing market with 15% vacancy rates, rents will near immediately increase to take up most of the value of any UBI unless there is rent control.
Naw, mate. In an area with sub-1% vacancy rates, you take what you can get after the 20th hunger Games style inspection you queue up for with 60 other parties. And likely, you have bid up the offer price of the rental to look more attractive than other tenants. All UBI will flow to landlords.
Seems like you are deliberately skipping over the obvious who are hurting ALL of America (and the world) right in front of your face: mElon & Drumpf!!!
No one is forced to buy a Tesla or use Starlink or rent space in a Trump building. YOU ARE FORCED to give the politicians part of your fair share of money you earned.
It's also an incorrect response. Nobody can amass billions of dollars through their own productivity. To amass that amount of wealth, one must leach off the value that many others produce. For one oligarch to amass billions, millions of people must make sacrifices.
Right! Like working full time plus and not being able to afford to live a life outside of work! Not being able to afford rent/utilities or the ocassional liverwurst sandwich you might be able to afford every other day so you have enough energy to work for nothing!
For instance Elon inherited his wealth from his family who own an emerald mine, and their fortune was made during Apartheid. Guess what was common during that time.
Hint, the USA kind of had a civil war over it.
Describe how they’re leaching and what sacrifices others are making…
Employees they hire?
Are people not getting paid?
Are businesses evil?
Are people being forced to work against their will?
Not sure what you’re saying…
*Big Tech steals my patented tech. So I'm in continuous litigation.
*Every tech industry is monopolized by one or a few giant corporations, which keeps prices high and wages low.
*Tech oligarchs collect more subsidies than they pay in taxes.
If big tech is provably stealing your patented tech, you should be rich soon.
Tech seems (to the layman) competitive, with product and platforms expanding. We’re on a site that’s new.
But I agree, large businesses are buying up small contractors at a fast clip, changing the market rapidly.
Not good.
I'm doing well by licensing to foreign companies and winning in foreign courts. I should have a trillion-$ company, if it weren't for the thieves. Instead, I have to fight for decades to get 9-figure payouts. It's like someone steals your car and returns the contents of the glove box 10 years later.
In February 2025, Samsung was awarded $4.745 billion in funding from the US Department of Commerce under the CHIPS Act. Samsung, is a huge patent thief, and there is current litigation against Samsung because it stole its CORE INNOVATIONS from a US company. But the US company doesn't get ANY grants.
Bc rich people for some reason think poor peoples' money is their money; money they've somhow provided for the poor.
When it evident it's the other way around.
Its all about control people. Being controlled by the people with money/power. That is less than 0.0001 percent of population. There is power in numbers.
We need to change as a society, and bring forth more humanity. It’s easily possible for us all to thrive if we actually valued and cared for each other and recognized that’s the real treasure.
I have come to the conclusion that Dump is like alcohol.
Alcohol never MAKES you do anything you don't really want to do. It just removes your internal inhibitors, like your conscience, morals, sense of shame, manners.
Alcohol simply ALLOWS you to do what you already wanted to do.
I use my drink to pull myself together, calm my nerves after dealing with the rigorous stupidity of the magats in our society. And I wait to get home to hit my drink when I know I'll be off the next day. I won't use alcohol as an excuse to straighten out these magats in society. They have it coming!
Then we say, “what harsh words. I’d be sad to hear someone talk like that to you. Who talks to you like that, sweetheart?” like one does when children are bullying other children or us adults. It works if spoken with utter sincerity and kindness
There seems to be this philosophy common in USA (among others) that poverty is a choice. I suppose it absolves the well off of taking any responsibility?
The idea of "hoarding money" is based on the assumption that there is only a finite amount and that wealth is not continuously created. This is really not true. In fact putting money in the bank increases the money supply as every Econ 101 student learns. Please think about this toxic meme.
Ok, then they should be able to easily pay more to those who create their wealth in the first place, and to maintain the public infrastructure that assists them?
The word "easily" gives away the biased assumptions here. Of course we need regulation and appropriate tax structure - and I believe in the right to organize. But I also believe in the right to property and profit. I believe in Capitalism and that it has brought billions out of poverty.
When corporate welfare trumps the needs of a country.
GAO 2024, in 2023 half the corporations in the U.S. paid no income tax.
Those that reported income paid an effective tax of 9%.
Perhaps it's time to get rid of the socialist power, roads, first responders, water supplies for corporations.
The whole point of Social Security is that it is our money, Trump and Elon Musk have no right to touch it. If they do, they are stealing from US. I saw a film with this boy in 1972. His Dad had died and he had to go work in the mines to support his mom/brothers/sisters. DON'T TOUCH HIS MONEY.
The same week I heard a cranky old gizzer telling someone else off for buying a lottery ticket I also heard a former colleague mention he'd just lost 25,000 in investments (2008). Right. I wish I had that kind of cash lying around. I'm buying a lottery ticket tomorrow.
The thing I hear the most is complaining about the cost of whatever phone they use. We all need one. Who should determine whether someone deserves a $200 or a $2000 phone? Especially when the judge is typically racist!
The delusion that some people have that they may somehow become like those ultra wealthy people.
No. You won't. You won't be like them. So stop defending the delusion that they earned that money.
#taxtherich
Not in America! You're absolutely correct! There is no "upward mobility" in America. If you're born poor, chances are high that you'll die the same way! Well that's not entirely accurate, you'll most likely die poorer!
Especially when one of the things that absolutely guarantees those people will never become ultra wealthy is that the people who are ultra wealthy have actively rigged the system to ensure nobody else can join their club unless one of them personally gives them a hand up into it.
It's the same way with poverty. You need money, a benefactor, or an astounding opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. Those are only granted to people the wealthy see as like themselves, only poor. The rest of us are told to fuck off and be grateful we have anything at all.
You nailed it. Over and over voters reject tax increases on the ultra-rich because they think they'll be ultra-rich too someday. They vote against their own best interests because of sugarplum fairies dancing in their heads.
Some people assume that poor people are (somehow) living it up on THEIR money. They have no clue how rich people accumulate their billions and buy into the wealthy folk's self-serving crap of how THEY earned it.
It’s also hilarious how people think they’re giving some grand advice. When I was super broke and people were like “Just don’t have a latte everyday” I said, “you already think I have more money than I do.”
i think about this a lot. my family is extremely critical of my finances - i’m by far the poorest of us - and i don’t understand it. i bought myself some fuzzy socks around christmas and my mom made a snarky comment about how i should have spent that $10 instead.
I lost all respect for a coworker the day she complained that a young mother from church had purchased food via WIC and a small package of candy. She considered it HER money wasted on the candy, which they didn’t deserve.
Yea, I love when people tell me how to spend my SSDI check. I guess a roof over my head and medications are just a waste of "taxpayers money". Um, I worked since I was 12, bitch!
Just wish the supermarket prices were better as spending $230 including delivery for 40 items is insane. Burgers, beef patties, and big bulk items plus cleaning supplies.
It's corporate greed. It's all about lining the pockets of the owners of these companies....not just stores, but manufacturers and box/bag/jug/carton makers.
A single mom getting $300 for groceries and her kids getting a free lunch at school are leeches on society, but a billionaire getting 100s of millions in government grants for his company causing its stock price to soar and increasing their already obscene personal wealth by magnitudes is just fine.
The top 3 Amazon, Facebook, and X, how many hospitals wings, foundation, and scholarship have they created? How many billions are enough for one life time. Share the wealth 😪
The assumption is that poor people get their money from charity or government, so we all get a say in how they spend their money. Rich people don’t get their money from government… oh I see it now thanks.
I’m on Social Security and Medicare, which are government monies, so I and my fellow oldsters should have no problem with people telling us to quit wasting (their) money at casinos, or to eat better and exercise more.
The big oil and gas, Elon Musk, and others get free money in subsidies, and that’s ok. They get a big tax break for being rich as well. That is rich man’s welfare. We should have a say in why they need it in the first place.
It’s because Rich folks have always enjoyed shaming the poor. And it’s funny to me, some of the people that used to be poor, but now are rich, seem to have forgotten where they came from, i.e. Mark Wahlberg. I never wanna hear again about “my mom had nine kids, and we ate government cheese“ and
Yet you have the audacity to support this Nazi coup. Fuck you! Fuck Sylvester, Stallone, fuck Kid Rock, fuck Kanye West… Fuck all you people that forgot where you came from.
The underlying problem in this country, for years, has been a serious shame imbalance. We feel ashamed about things that are not in any way connected to how we conduct ourselves as people - our looks, our status, our lack of wealth - and at the same time the worst people have no shame at all. Worse
We are programmed to feel bad about ourselves if we aren't wealthy or didn't win a genetics sweepstakes and come out with exceptional beauty, talent, or intelligence. And it turns out, that internalized shame is very effective for fanning grievances.
I went to a discussion once and the speaker said everyone needs a break from their life. Wealthy people go on vacation, other people get paid days off and relax at home. If you have neither of those luxuries, a cigarette gives you a brief break. You don’t know why someone spends on what they spend.
The nation's "Christian" nationalists and their historical equivalents have always blamed the poor for their economic status, claiming they spend their money foolishly and have no sense of thrift, while in reality they scrupulously guard every penny and fight to put food on the table.
Calvinism. If you ever get a time machine, he's the one you need to go back and shoot.
The idea that wealth is a sign of God's favor and poverty a sign of God's displeasure has infected virtually everthing - - and so the wealthy are considered virtuous and the poor sinners.
Yes. Success of any sort is due to God's favor. Failure is due to God's displeasure. You can see the evangelical sorts constantly blaming illness or infirmity upon sin.
You can see it now in RFK's fucking weirdness. Living "right" will grant you health and success.
It's pervasive -- it reinforces natural hierarchies, gives the illusion life is under control and you'll be okay because you're not a sinner like THEM and allows you to ignore the sick, the poor, the trod upon -- it's their fault, after all, for not living "right".
Calvinism infected a lot of Protestantism and more importantly the culture around that religion. Most of the Protestant branches rooted out the bulk of that theology, but the culture kept it alive so it could seep back in.
Evangelical fundamentalists in the US opened a huge door for it.
We already know how that would turn out because we have already seen it - twice. Republicans will never remove him from office. Plus, it's not going to change anything with Shady Vance taking over.
What we need to do is stop fighting culture wars, join together, nonviolent protest by the millions and elect new Representatives that will pass legislation to stop the greed at the top.
Not as quite important as using #ALTtext to include the visually-impaired! - although I guess you don't think so...
"You ever notice it's socially acceptable to tell poor people how to spend their money, but when we ask the rich to stop hoarding wealth the response is, 'it's their money'?"
It’s the entire panoply of so called upstanding behavior & the reliable hypocrisy of the rich. Case in point Elon Musk has 13 offspring from four women. He’d be chewed up and spit out raw if he were the average Joe managing a hardware store. Forget the specter of race. And yes Trump is the same.
Way back when I was a kid, my mother could never count on child support for her kids. People, including my father and my sisters, used to question her ability to manage money. She consulted with a financial org for the poor. He didn't know how she'd managed with what she had.
Supposedly, the promissory note’s, we call money 💴 isn’t only based on the value of gold collected for the use of the USA 🇺🇸, but also attributed to our GDP and CPI , this is how the USA 🇺🇸 economy can be manipulated to adjust for inflationary conditions that world 🌎 markets scale upon.
Yes, and the poor are told they haven't enough to eat because they are bad at budgeting, but the rich never learned to budget because they didn't need to, and they never went hungry!
Like the folks who screamed that Barack Obama's "not my president" but as soon as that Orange FUKKKTARD got in there the first time--and this time--they're screaming "he's your president now, snowflake". You know what happens when a lot of SNOWFLAKES fall in certain places-- AVALANCHE!!!!
Thank you for that I don't even get food stamps I'm pretty sure they're going to cut summer food stamps for the kids because no kid deserves a free lunch you know in the eyes of a Republican party
Holy fuck. This is so true. Under RayGun, we were told to hate Social Welfare programs for what they "did" to people. I, a White Middle Class divorced single mother lost access to childcare and other services.
Then, I saw a clip of a Black woman saying, "We just want to live like others do."
That was it for me. I have used every subsequent year to give to services, and programs that help lift people up and treat them as I wanted to be treated.
I am ashamed that I was 22 when I figured that out--my parents had diverse friends, and always taught tolerance--but it finally rang true.
It's the rich ethos. They see wealth as the true value of a person. Pretty sure Gandhi wouldn't agree. I cannot see any person that gave his/her life for another as valueless. Though, apparently, the Orange Nazi Cult does.
Resistance isn't futile.
Revolution is necessary.

I guess for the same reason that giving Billions to one (to build exploding cars and rockets) is a free market investment, but dividing it up between millions of citizens (who are hungry or need help with medical bills because of low wages and high rents) is a socialist handout.

the right is always right, and
it’s socially acceptable to think
the left is always wrong.
It's the recipients' money. And that's not even talking about working poor, who earn what little money they have in bad jobs.
And trust poor people to be much better at spending money sensibly than not poor people. It's literally what they need to do every day.
He used the word 'education' EIGHTY Times in Wealth of Nations. He wrote "read, write and ACCOUNT" 5 Times.
Marx used the word 'depreciation' 35 times in the 1st 2 volumes of Das Kapital.
Why isn't accounting mandatory in our schools in Capitalism.
This stifles local growth & results in ALL of us paying higher percentages of our wealth relative to theirs.

Right wing: They are poor because they have problems.
Everyone else: No, they have problems because they are poor.
The right wing is clueless about cause and effect in this area as well.
I've known 2 trust fund babies (male) who were completely broke by age 25.
And I've known a pair of cousins (female) who were born into welfare and slowly dug their way out through schooling, working, and saving.
Do you think gender has anything to do with success rates?
There are general tendencies I've noticed. Males TEND to take more risks just for the sake of taking risks. 🤦♂️
Females TEND to get stuck with unplanned-for babies and abusive mates. 😣
I can't speak for the other genders. 🤷♀️
The concept of empathy FOR someone without having experienced that problem or issue is foreign to these people.

*Every tech industry is monopolized by one or a few giant corporations, which keeps prices high and wages low.
*Tech oligarchs collect more subsidies than they pay in taxes.
>>> these THEFTS are our sacrifices <<<
Tech seems (to the layman) competitive, with product and platforms expanding. We’re on a site that’s new.
But I agree, large businesses are buying up small contractors at a fast clip, changing the market rapidly.
Not good.
Can you fill us in? Is Congress funneling them money?
What’s the story?
MASTER MANIPULATORS IS THEIR "BIGGEST" ABILITY!
When it evident it's the other way around.
Idiocy at warp speed
Alcohol never MAKES you do anything you don't really want to do. It just removes your internal inhibitors, like your conscience, morals, sense of shame, manners.
Alcohol simply ALLOWS you to do what you already wanted to do.
Just like Dump.
GAO 2024, in 2023 half the corporations in the U.S. paid no income tax.
Those that reported income paid an effective tax of 9%.

Especially in our current system, that is clearly a variable that is impacted by variables other than how hard someone worked.
There's probably a way to try and quantify how important to society work is....
No. You won't. You won't be like them. So stop defending the delusion that they earned that money.

She was a b*tch.

The people who have taught us to feel shame are
The idea that wealth is a sign of God's favor and poverty a sign of God's displeasure has infected virtually everthing - - and so the wealthy are considered virtuous and the poor sinners.
You can see it now in RFK's fucking weirdness. Living "right" will grant you health and success.
Evangelical fundamentalists in the US opened a huge door for it.
"You ever notice it's socially acceptable to tell poor people how to spend their money, but when we ask the rich to stop hoarding wealth the response is, 'it's their money'?"
NO TF they didn't. They have people working in poor conditions for poor wages while they sit back stuffing their pockets and bank accounts.

But I didn't claim that I came up with it
Then, I saw a clip of a Black woman saying, "We just want to live like others do."
I am ashamed that I was 22 when I figured that out--my parents had diverse friends, and always taught tolerance--but it finally rang true.
Resistance isn't futile.
Revolution is necessary.

You get more out of giving money to the middle class than you do to billionaires... that is if you your goal is to improve and grow the economy.
(p.s. I’m being sarcastic.)
