To give an example I have a working combat system that just rolls damage. It’s then incumbent on the opponent to avoid that damage via parry, dodge, armor etc. I’m skipping the roll to hit middle-man entirely.

The whole idea that there should be a roll to hit is a design straight-jacket.

Ain't you that writer? I mean yes please, it would rock if you did just that.

Oh the irony of the dude that just has to put his finger in the scale and get trump elected in the first place being in this position. Not exactly delish though - just more theatre of the absurd.

Damn right and the younger generations thinks Reagan was the “last great president” meanwhile not connecting how his deregulation policies stagnated wages and fed the 1% the bulk of GDP growth since that era.

Sounds like some Haka people got lost and ended up in Britain. ;)

as it should if you're doing it right

I still can’t get friends who were Bernie supporters to admit he lost the primary to Hillary because he failed to connect to black voters in the South. It’s always some conspiracy against him rather than he just didn’t get a ground game going there amongst African-Americans like he should have.

Since this was voluntary preemptive cancellation I doubt it’s being counted by this graph. Guessing there are many other subcontracting businesses in the same position.

I have a friend who is a military contractor who had his position preemptively frozen by the pentagon last month. Since his contract was up for renewal in April it’s pretty much assumed it won’t exist at that time. Dozens of others at his office in same position.

oh i agree with that but I also think of how smart everyone seems to agree Rumsfield was, but he still thought the Iraqi's would welcome the USA with open arms. Anyone with a scrap of empathy or historical insight would know better but that's ideological blindness for yah.

Trump's been playing "if i ran the zoo - i'd do it this way" in his head since the 1970's. He's absorbed almost no new information since then hahah. Now the scum around him might deeper darkers plans but I don't think they get beyond "starve the beast" or imagine what will really happen when they do

It sure seems like that's their goal but it think we're underestimating their stupity and ideological blindness. Like George Carlin say's "Think of the dumbest person you know and then realize the average person is dumber than that."

I have my own critiques of the American "free trade" paradigm but that would be far too intellectually advanced for racist populists to digest. More's the pity

it's hillarious that Trump and company don't understand that the imperial empire they want runs on imigration. take away imigration and free trade and that empire will be crippled economically and demographically. so much winning.

That old joke/not a joke that when the army hit the beaches on an island in the pacific in ww2 and the only casualties were a dozen lieutenants with no Japanese presence on the island.

I've been seeing many article about acedemic researchers here in the US training AI's for a few hundred dollars worth of electricity that are on par with the big tech versions so this comes as no surprise. OpenAI, etc are obviously a ponzi scheme hype bubble.

Tend to agree but i do the opposite lol. To play devil’s advocate that would be like when you are playing a strategy game and to scale the AI difficulty the computer is allowed to disregard the rules and build whatever units it wants in one turn even without any money.

My friend Loten Namling was acting as a lama in a recent movie - he said that the villagers on location in Bhutan totally believed he was the reincarnation of Thangtong as he's a dead ringer for sure.

Did you pick that because i reminded you of it the other day? Can't remember if we talked about it but i randomly picked them up to read again last week. I'm interested in the world-building and the plot but the writing style is painful to read as an adult.
