I’ve been through multiple corporate RIFs. Not a single one was managed in this way. Additionally the company and HR heads did not portray anyone as committing fraud, or being worthless, etc.

Georgia had many such villages and mounds but most were destroyed in the name of “progress”. The mounds were razed and highways and farms took their place. The few that remain are a testament to a way of life that thrived for centuries until the Europeans arrived and took it for themselves.
