sometimes writing feels like an unbreakable, spiraling addiction, and at the same time, a glorious, healing cure

Let’s stop doomscrolling and get some writing done.

shout out to all the writers and artists who take forever to finish something. I get it, bro. I take a long time too. but your worth as a writer/artist isn't built upon production. so just keep striding it out. keep taking those steps. we each have our own race track. we'll get to the finish line

how it feels sharing your writing and art

things just got... out of hand

You ever get a lore revelation that goes so deep it becomes absolute gibberish to basically anyone else?

and they say that a heeeeero can save us

"For mature audiences" not as in "legally allowed to see a boob" but "can see a fictional character do a bad thing and not immediately go on a crusade against the author"

“the author’s barely-disguised fetish” Yeah man, let it all hang out

I often find myself struggling to write good comments on people's artwork and fics, and become hit with indecision about making posts. So I often post something short and generic, but trust me when I say that I love seeing people's creativity and beauty put into the world.

Now seems like a good moment to clarify that my disliking for a book in no way indicates a moral judgment of the author as a person, nor is it a moral judgment on readers who did happen to like the book. Art is subjective, and sometimes a book just rubs you the wrong way.

Okay, so today in "reviews are not for writers, not least because they are absolutely useless to us" I accidentally looked at a couple of newer reviews for my debut novel, From Unseen Fire, which I generally avoid because my emotions are squishy and easily bruised, but this was sort of hilarious.

Reading books helps prevent early onset stupidity.

Another ol' bit of brushpen playtime. With existential boobies.

It takes a lot of guts to write a story. It takes even more guts to publish it & share it with the world. So, to everyone in the #writingcommunity (the people I’m so honored to call my friends): You‘re the bravest people I’ve ever known❤️.

„i really like your oc so I drew them!“ / „hey I drew your oc :)“ LIKE OMGGGG PLEASE IM IN TEARS ILL CERISH IT FOREVER

Of course I have friends—they’re called books, plants, and pets.
