LOL it mentioned in the story there being an elevating platform on stage that was operated with buttons . and i looked it up and the first hydraulic stage lifts were developed in the 1880s, and electric stage lifts were put into use in the 1890s (I had to look around for the useful website i had up

I forget exactly how I got to this time period, but I think I began with general victorian era, and then considering the advancement of theatre technology at the end of the century I made a guess that it would have been built around 1885-1890s and the storyline would have taken place (v
