There’s only one 🏆🍁🇨🇦

Our group is well represented at the GRC #Cilia & Mucociliary Interactions meeting 💪

Special shout out this AM to NIH 🧪 grant mgmt specialists, POs, and SROs during this chaotic time - THANK YOU for caring for our grants and uploading scores/summary statements despite the unprecedented challenges you may be facing. You are science warriors and we APPRECIATE & SUPPORT YOU 🫶

It’s go time! @horanilab.bsky.social and I on the way to the GRC #Cilia meeting. Looking forward to seeing everyone in California 🌴

Let’s GOOOOOO!!! 🍁

Hey look, it me! #KUMC #Nephrology

When a reporter asks to talk, the answer is YES. Thank you @clewisreports.bsky.social "Maureen Barr runs a lab at Rutgers University in New Jersey...Barr, like many scientists across the region and country, is now worried about her lab’s future..." gothamist.com/news/ny-nj-j...

This week just keeps getting more depressing. First, the NHLBI council reviewing our well-scored grant on Feb4 got cancelled. Meanwhile, I still had to submit an R01 for Feb5 deadline. And now they're throwing a nuke into the NIH funding system, which'll kill research. I'm emotionally drained.

David Clapham is visiting WU for the Carl and Gerty Cori Lecture. Mitochondria are cool, but should’ve really emphasized #cilia 😉

It appears that NIH Advisory Councils scheduled to meet today (Nat Heart, Lung, and Blood Inst (NHLBI), Nat Inst on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Nat Library of Med (NLM), and Nat Inst of Minority Health and Health Disparities, NIMHH) did NOT meet today. I am trying to find out why. Any info appreciated.

New exciting study out from our group, just published in Science Translational Medicine! 👇

🚨New paper out!🚨 Excited to share our study published in Science Translational Medicine. This 5yr project was led by Susan @dutcherlab.bsky.social and Steve Brody. We asked a simple question: why do some PCD patients develop more severe lung disease than others? 1/ www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Scientists waiting on NIH councils right now...

Caltech has set up a disaster relief fund for Caltech and Jet Propulsion Lab community members affected by the fires. Many lived in Altadena, which has been very heavily damaged. Please consider giving. giving.caltech.edu/areas-to-sup...

Ready for my first fight on BlueSky. Mortadella, fresh mozza & PINEAPPLE pizza FTW 😜

Over to you, Canadian educational institutions.

Grad student interviews started today and, damn, these applicants just get better and better each year! Crazy how good many of these students are. It's also my annual reminder that I would've never gotten into WashU 😂
