The grind is necessary for this kind of game, though again, could have been optimized with better methods like RNG protection/additional ways of acquisition while maintaining a similar level of grind.

D1's RoI Era was peak Destiny. Reducing grind elements instead of optimizing was a big mistake, such as ease of gaining rewards, getting exotics, and butchering events to being as simple as they are.
