Part of their delusion here is they're getting yelled at for not being leftist enough or that only leftists are mad at them. There's a pretty explicit test case of a center left party abandoning trans people and immigrants. Labour in the UK have done just that and their political support has imploded while legitimizing the fascist Reform party. Dem consultants seem content to follow this strategy.
