Compromise in US politics isn't about getting things done, it's about being able to make the other guys look bad when stuff doesn't work out. Which is maybe only loosely related to the concept of trade-offs, but it's part of why some people refuse to budge.

I used to have the same hope about Trump dying and making the cult of personality less of a factor, but with the role Musk's taking they'll still have an inexplicably charismatic figurehead to lean on

The post is about people who voted for Trump, not all voters

It's always weird when woke and anti-woke agree about something

Why the hostility? I'm just letting you know what actual leftists are like. They're nothing to worry about, though, they suck at large scale organizing.

I'm kinda in favor of Yellbat. Very evocative. But I know very little about Transformers, as has been demonstrated.

Even if that's true, the far left wouldn't be importing voters. They'd be importing revolutionaries. And if we want to talk about people who should be in jail, Trump is literally a convicted felon.

It could be anything. Wellbat? Yellbat? Fellbat? The possibilities are endless!

The far left doesn't want the Democrats, they want to destroy existing power structures. That isn't really possible under the current system. Meaning they don't think voting works. So why would they care about flooding the country with people to vote for politicians they don't like?

I've seen some press acting like it's over while also calling it illegal, and I think that's fair. That it happened at all has caused damage that will be hard to bounce back from.

Except the far left hates Biden. If you think any elected officials are far left, you have no idea what that means.

Just a joke I will always make given the chance, not my honest opinion 💜

Alternative to what? Good music?

I don't think they did either

Your fear's already a reality. Congress has been a joke for decades, it's almost impossible to make progress towards any goal. Republicans get elected by promising immediate action, and they deliver by consolidating power to the executive. And their voters don't care as long as stuff happens.

Convenient that they seized control of OPM, not that I think they could falsify records believably

That's always been the case, in a way. Any elected official is being placed in a position of public trust, which usually needs a security clearance. But I think most of them have to apply for higher clearances, and at that point need to know comes into play.

Self-preservation is also important, and security keeping their jobs could have been more useful for resistance. So I can't fault them. I do wish they'd have called the bluff, Musk's authority is questionable. Knowing who will blindly obey would be good info.

Honestly, anyone in government who's not a Trump/Musk crony should be furious over this, but the only people making noise are a handful of Dems and no ones actually done anything. So I wouldn't be so confident it was a bluff, and I can't blame security for caving in.
