The overwhelming sentiment of the past few weeks is that the US Government is no longer a good faith employer. In a global marketplace with competition from both private companies and state actors, this is going to prove much more costly to the US taxpayer than any savings, which they will never see

This book is on track to be the most wildly sold book on immunology (extrapolated from two pre teens who have it).

The U.S. has two tsunami warning centers, both operated by NOAA. Employees were terminated from these centers today. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center covers Hawaiʻi, and now it is less safe to be near the beach. www.tsunami.gov

Infectious diseases folks! #IDsky I'm looking for an updated version of this (published 2002), showing the number of antigens contained in vaccines over time. Anyone know where I can find an updated version of something like this? Thanks!

"VA researchers whose contracts are about to expire . . . will not be renewed, even when funding [through extramural grants is] in place to pay them. Should the VA continue this policy . . . over the months to come, the entire VA research workforce could be decimated."

This makes me question adage from @ashishkjha.bsky.social that 'an ounce of data is worth a tonne of opinion". Maybe, sometimes that ounce of data is worthless or even harmful. For people who can/do collect data, it migh be important to know this and question tools and respondent biases.
