Bookings are open for #BSBISummerMeeting 2025 in Melrose, Scotland! Unsure if this event is right for you? So was @mandyforde.bsky.social but she took the plunge last year & here's her story: bsbipublicity.blogspot.com/2025/05/bsbi... This year's programme: www.tickettailor.com/events/botan...

A week later, I've just checked the Puss #Moth eggs and found them hatched, which resulted in some serious searching before finding two tiny kittens. Look forward to watching them grow. #WildWebsWednesday #TeamMoth @savebutterflies.bsky.social @cofnod.org.uk

It's that time of year again, when Painted Lady butterflies arrive from Africa. Spotted this one feeding in my #Anglesey garden a couple of days ago. #Wildwebswednesday @savebutterflies.bsky.social @cofnod.org.uk

Yellow-tail moth caterpillars munching their way through what few leaves the Vapourer caterpillars have left on my Cherry tree #wildwebswednesday #teammoth

For this week's #WildflowerHour challenge #WildFlowerShow here's Thrift, Armeria maritima, swaying in the breeze on the Rhoscolyn coastal path today #Anglesey

From a distance I thought these two tiny blobs were small Ladybirds, close up I thought they were tree sap. Lackey caterpillar conveniently next to them for scale. So excited to discover that they're actually Puss Moth eggs. #Wildwebswednesday #TeamMoth @savebutterflies.bsky.social @cofnod.org.uk

Some more of today's finds on the Anglesey Flora Group survey Common Mouse-ear for #PinkFamily Early Purple orchid, Welsh Poppy, Alchemila (sp. needs checking), Gromwell & Cuckoo Flower #Wildflowerhour

Three-nerved Sandwort, Moehringia trinervia, found on today's Anglesey Flora Group survey for this week's #Wildflowerhour challenge #PinkFamily Just one clump found growing on the edge of a woodland, a former Hazel coppice used by a limestone quarry

Other plants seen on the #Anglesey fens included the fabulous Butterwort, Marsh Lousewort and Common Cottongrass #Wildflowerhour

A fabulous display of #orchids on the #Anglesey fens this week for #Wildflowerhour Second ever sighting of Early-purple (within 6 days), my first ever Pugsley's Marsh-orchid, plus two others not yet identified.

Part 4 Just as we were leaving the woodland, after everyone had walked past, I looked down and shouted #Orchid which got them all scurrying back to see the tiny glint of purple through the verdant understorey. Early Purple Orchid, another first for me this week. #WildflowerHour

For part three of the Anglesey Flora Group visit here's the Hybrid Avens, Geum x intermedium, possibly one of the most exquisite flowers I've ever seen #WildflowerHour

Part two of the Anglesey Flora Group visit included my first ever encounter with the amazing Herb- Paris, Paris quadrifolia #WildflowerHour

Part one of a special visit to a private woodland with Anglesey Flora Group this week with some exciting lifer species for me #WildflowerHour

Without doubt my favourite Butterfly with such gorgeous markings. First of the year spotted on the side of my house last night. Wall on a wall @savebutterflies.bsky.social

It's Lackey #moth season again. Found 8 clusters so far in my garden. They're usually on my Willows but this year they're in Apple and Cherry trees too. #Wildwebswednesday #TeamMoth @savebutterflies.bsky.social @cofnod.org.uk

I'm invariably wrong with my #Bee id so take it with a pinch of salt that this is Andrena thoracica, but this very small Bee with a rounded abdomen was definitely enjoying the Dandelions #WildWebsWednesday Id help welcomed 😃

So excited to find a new species in my meadow, a female #Adder 😃 @cofnod.org.uk

Here we go again 🤷 I've been here just a couple of weeks and the scantily clad 'ladies' are following me already. This is as bad as Twitter. Anyone know how to stop/avoid them?

Think this might be Early Hair-grass, Aira praecox, found growing in my courtyard yesterday #Wildflowerhour

For this week's #WildFlowerHour challenge #Cabbagefamily here's English Scurvygrass from this morning's beach walk

A tale of three Speedwells from the Cerrig Cottages Wildflower Meadow for this week's #WildFlowerHour Germander, Wall and Ivy-leaved

Garden tiger moth nibbling it's way through a Nettle leaf #WildWebsWednesday

HoneyBee enjoying the Dandelions #WildWebsWednesday

The Range #Anglesey this afternoon providing a plethora of Spring beauty for #Wildflowerhour Birds-foot-trefoil, Tormentil, Thrift, Spring Squill, early budding Spathulate Fleawort & Lousewort

Lost count of the numbers of Common #Lizards seen today on The Range #Anglesey. Including lots of small dark juveniles, born last Summer and still retaining their dark colouration. Plus really exciting to see a Slow Worm only my 4th ever sighting

Here I am at last 😀 Hoping to find all my previous Twitter followers over the next few days/weeks 🌼🍄🐸🦉🐦‍⬛🐞🐝
