Ill health redundancy (just stuff I wish I could tell myself 2.5y ago)
comment in response to post
Sure you know this etc, and I was in the lucky position of having a job with decent sickness policy (even if I had a dog shit manager) and moving to being self-employed, but definitely rinse the sick policy for anything you can, don't trust occupational health, and see if your place does any kind of

I've unfortunately been there, and yes it is (I went in on the Monday morning, did 45m of work, broke down, blustered something about a crisis to my manager, got a taxi home, signed off sick for 6 mo then quit completely) - solidarity and I hope either things improve or you can get something better

You have mashed potato for brains and you are at *best* a spineless apologist for fascism and a quisling collaborator

"right now it's the Nazis, back then it's the commies" You keep doing this thing where you say "well you're talking about punching Nazis, but what if *actually* you replace the word nazi with "cute little puppies", how disgusting, checkmate leftists" and it's absolutely ridiculous

The European part of WWII largely was won by the sacrifice of 26 million soviet soldiers who died brutally fighting the nazi menace, and they certainly didn't do it by going "oooh nooooo I can't do violence against Nazis that makes me as bad as them"
comment in response to post
"if you replace the n word with the j word" Yes but have you considered that different things are different you absolute fucking helmet, and that trying to draw an equivalence between antisemitic violence and "we should beat the shit out of Nazis" is both disgusting and ridiculous

😭😭😭😭😭 fruit shortcake CANCELLED
comment in response to post
Pink wafers are great, Garibaldi I'm always mixed on because they're fine, but not as good as what I thought Garibaldi/squashed fly biscuits were (always called them this) until a couple of years ago, which is this, the fruit shortcake (a much superior biscuit imo)

Oh yeah definitely - half the photos from that holiday that I'm going through I'm like "this is objectively a 6/10 photo but it's of such a cool location I need to edit and add it to the collection immediately"

Thankyou! There were those round traffic mirrors everywhere, and I feel like I took a photo in at least half of them lol

Then you'll also find a lot of them with the usual mix of pretty good stuff that you get in a fairly bougie city. It either wasn't open or I didn't know about it when I went years ago, but also apparently theres the only Palestine museum in the UK in Bristol as well, meant to be good

(Clifton) is cool if you like some weird modernist architecture. Bristol Museum and Gallery is pretty big and was nice to visit, lots of paintings etc, though CBA with the banksy bit. Also had a nice mooch through the corn exchange/st Nicholas market, and if you like going round charity shops etc

The main thing I've done in bristol is get tattooed (can recommend you two great artists if you want but guess that's not the reason for the holiday) - but also went on holiday there a little while back - Clifton suspension bridge is nice and there's some bougie cafes round there, plus the cathedral

See I also reckon in my head it's two parts but the *second* has one less beat? But yeah ring a roses definitely the origin - though the original of *that* is 6 then 7 I think - "ring a ring a ro-ses" as written above then "a po-cket full of po-sies" with an extra leading quaver before the bar line

Wait is this going to be one of those regional shibboleths? I definitely hear it mostly with 6, like the tune written? Do you just do one long one at the start before the note changes?

I mean I went to find the tweet and her account on twitter has been suspended, which is exactly the thing Elon would do if the tweets were true because he's too thick to understand the Streisand effect, so....
