Yes. If I read or listen to a book I can paint a picture of maybe a movie in my head. It's especially good for something like the Wheel of time series where Robert Jordan is so verbose I can create all the details on my mind.

Super Mario Bros. I think thrusting an adult in large scale video games can be overwhelming. Depending on what their other hobbies were the hand eye coordination may not be there. I'd rather ease them in and gauge where I think they will find fun.
