#BeyondTheGates really gets it. THIS IS A SOAP🫧, and every single character on canvas is allowed to be a SOAP character (even you, Derek)! It's so refreshing! There are no props. No perfect paragons. No pieces of set furniture. No mammies or magical negroes. Even Shanice gets to be a character.

The first is just out and out platonic chemistry. Jens and Taby's friendship is lovely and it shines through in their scenes. But they do not have a single drop of sexual, sensual or romantic chemistry. Jequan and Taby may have a bit more but I think that's bc of a certain vibe/energy he brings. 🤷🏿‍♀️
