Not long licenced, listening to ISS on colinear antenna and calling for a contact, Thomas Reiter replied - my first astronaut in the log

I really struggled with static when hail storms passed over, S9+ noise!! Hope WX is better next Tuesday for 70cms !!

Better shot of them ...

That sounds similar to my previous issue, maybe worth reterminating the connection before any rotator 'surgery'. A step in the right direction

If I'm 'away' and mention I'm from the Isle of Man, if folks don't mention the TT racing, they'll sometimes ask if I mean the Isle of Wite, or suggest IOM is a lot further south !!

Some great suggestions so far, I have one less than 2 years old, azimuth position started to jump a bit, took off the connector at the rotator for a clean and it's fine now - always worth a try

Composite Meteor M2-4 RGB 221 (IIRC 80k) May 9th 2024

I haven't played for a couple of months, I've had success with using 80k for the decoding, but sometimes it is 72k, I tend to use s16 as the recording format

I still tend to use WXtoIMG with the add on Kepler downloader for APT satellites, SatDump is superb for the Meteors and others though

Sounds lovely !

I'm guessing you've probably used PETG, wonder if the black pigment would make any difference with RF absorbtion compared to different colours, or other filaments ?

They're good value and super quick for a bed slinger, some folks have security concerns about the Bambu 'cloud' ecosystem

Was a bit of a slow start, heavy rain during setup and not many heard, improved loads for me after rain had passed - not sure how much attenuation it caused, some were booming in, but lost a few as well

Had a TS-2000 - great 'shack in the box', Have IC-9700 now - mostly used for UKAC contests - it's usually in the campervan for this. 9700 is a superb satellite radio. FT-991 at home for HF, but can work on FM birds quite well. Hoping the new Yaesu FTX-1F is full duplex - be a great /P satellite rig

I miss PSK31 - reliable, low bandwidth and about as fast as I can type, worked well for keyboard to keyboard QSOs

Hurts like hell to let them go - each one leaves their own individual dog shaped hole in your heart - thinking of you !!

Linseed oil left to soak in overnight - buff up with a cloth and should be good to go ...

Guessing *nix if running Direwolf? I use UISS with soundmodem on Windows- it's meant for APRS via ISS, but works well terrestrial too

I'm brand agnostic, tend to go for what I can afford with features I'm after. Yeasu VX8-GE handie, FT-817 & Ubitx v5 for /P, FT-991 for HF, FTM-350 in little van for repeaters / APRS, Kenwood TM-700 in camper van. Icom IC-9700 for satellites & UHF/VHF/23cm contesting. Sold TS-2000 recently

Probably less prone to rodents & accidents if it's buried, if it's not super long (and thick) - could you run it in some hosepipe? Used hose on camper conversion behind insulation / panels and fishing line with bit of cloth on the end, vaccuumed through pipe as draw string !!

Boarding happening? Frigate is shadowing and patrol boats are closing in from south and north

Hope you on the better side of it tomorrow, WX looks like it's going to suck - my day might consist of not much more than dog walks & keeping warm !

Looks like HRD on the screen - don't think this was released until 2003 ??
