I'm definitely not proud of Canada, I will not fly a Canadian flag, I won't talk about pride in our country.
But I will very strongly oppose all this talk of annexation, invasion, economic punishments that make people suffer, etc.

Even as it's fighting off an assault by its "pal" USA, it's still trying to throw Mexico under the bus. That colonialist/genocidal brotherhood is strong. It has acted like the consummate bully's sidekick for a century, now finds itself in the bully's ire.

i often see the argument that capitalism absorbs and repack any criticisms as a product to sell, like is something strictly negative.

I'd disagree with that. An understated but important plot point is Andor taking his manifesto. It's an important step on the ladder of Andor going from cynic to committed rebel. Andor was inspired by it, and the callbacks to the manifesto underscore its importance.

Another way is, "Ok, that was really messed up, but I'm fine. Yeah, I'm ok. I'm fine. It wasn't that bad. I can just push it to one side and it'll be ok." You may initially actually feel like this is true. It is not, the feelings will come when you feel safer and they hit like a brick.

This is why I believe in having a safe word for all intimate interactions, instead of it only being for things like bondage.
Having a word that means "stop whatever you are doing immediately" is incredibly valuable.

Also just because someone paid you for sex does not mean you inherently consent at all times, and that prior consent does not mean ongoing consent - even if consent is repealed during sex itself. Consent is always ongoing.
