My ex-husband now has a vanity plate on his car with an abbrviated form of the word "entitled" on it. I mean, accurate, but also a weird thing to broadcast to the world.

OMG!!!

The powers that be making me straight was a real dick move. Even the best guys I know still have privilege to unpack.

Book #3 for February! I found this at my favorite used book store today. Her books fly off the shelves, so I could scarcly believe my luck. I can't praise the work of Octavia E. Butler enough. I am so excited to get started.

Let's!

People still idolize Kanye. His violently antisemitic posts get huge amounts of support. He is encouraging millions of people to hate Jews. If you think everyone just ignores him you are very wrong.

Book #1 for February. I started with Alfajiri by the wonderful Michael LaBorn. This book is beautiful, and tore my heart out, leaving me wanting more. Please turn this into a series @michaellaborn.bsky.social !

Book #2!! One chapter in, enjoying the hell out of it. The author's clever writing had me already chuckling loudly, the characters sucked me in right away, and the depictions of America as it truly is (minus werewolves, for now) hits hard. Follow the author on here: @suleikhasnyder.bsky.social

Paw prints in the snow on the path to my front door. Another thing I love about winter.

the fascists are looking to rigidly define gender not just to punish trans people like they claim but to lay the groundwork for the oppression of all women. when gender is legally mutable, it is harder to use it to restrict people’s rights. they want to build a cage around you, made from our bones

Happy Black History Month!!

@margaret-stormcrow.bsky.social I apologize for the way I reached out to you. Every time my account gets suspended. Today, we are reunited once again. In just a few weeks, the crossing will open for travel. I need donations, reposts, or for you to share our story. bsky.app/profile/sali...

Today, my "sticking it to the man" consisted of making it through the day despite the sudden wave of depression that has hit me over the past week, and teaching my kiddo how to make a killer chicken noodle soup. Ah, the glamorous life of an anarchist.

This is the one and only book I completed in January. Lent to me by my future sister-in-law (thanks, Sessi!), it is a cozy, sweet, low-stakes fantasy novel. I enjoyed it so much, I bought my own copy plus the prequel today.

New adventure: sourdough. Wish me luck!

New morning routine: I wake up to my tarantula, Athena, standing in her empty water dish (the water evaporates overnight). She climbs out of it when she detects my movement, then proceeds to fight the water as I pour it in 😂

Channeling some of my extra rage energy into crocheting a nice weighted blanket for my ten-year-old. Slowly building up hand strength again, taking frequent mini-breaks to let the hand cramps subside. Love the way it's turning out!

One of my favourite things about winter: frost!

This beautiful, FeLV+ boy is William. Going strong with an often fatal condition for 13+ years.

Another shot of CJ. Goddamn, I love cats.

I met the most beautiful cat, CJ, at a local cat cafe on Tuesday. This photo does not do him justice. The contrasting colors, his fluffy long fur, and his regal presence had me in awe. His brother Charlie is equally gorgeous. I would have adopted them in a heartbeat if I were able.

Fascists are fascist-ing at break-neck speed here in the US. I feel helpless and ungrounded. I don't know what to do besides curl up with some smut.

My sister wrote this on my fridge. I think of it every time I feed Athena, the tarantula. Her venom isn't deadly to me, though the same cannot be said for the crickets she makes a meal of.
