I'm a book coach. I would never do to you what your previous editor did. We can chat if you want, and if we're not a good fit, I work for a company that trains book coaches so I have a vast network of people and can probably refer you to someone. If you want to talk, let me know. No pressure. ❤️

Gotcha. Yes, I've heard the PB market wants shorter and shorter. Soon they will just be pamphlets. All the same, I hope you enjoy the freedom of a higher word count!

OMG this happens to me every time I write a short story. Someone reads it and says, "Oh but I wish this were a novel!" So... I'm working on multiple novels simultaneously while also trying to share my backlist lol. Enjoy your MG writing journey :D

Yesss! This is why I'm a plantser lol. I have enough direction to build momentum but they have freedom to explore, too. I also sort of believe our characters are inspired by the spirits of those who came before, whose stories were not told.

But whichever path(s) you explore, may they bring you fulfillment. :) I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes, if you're happy to share (no pressure though)!

That could be worth trying for sure! There may also be organizations you can volunteer to review for. For example, I send my books for review with the Historical Novel Society. They review as many as they can but it's all volunteer based. I wonder if there's a group for what you enjoy reading most?

I hear you on the introversion score! What about doing them on a blog instead of on social media? Would that be easier? There's less expectation of responding and you could, if you wished, turn comments off.

I went viral for my own norms once. I spent so much time answering comments. It was fun but then I also had other work I had to do haha. I had made an IG reel when I was still on there that reached about 50k people.

Thanks so much! It's a Robin Hood retelling from the POV of an ace woman who stands between the noble and peasant classes.
