When people commit to spending their lives together, they marry. They “tie the knot”. The expression isn’t used in official capacities. (“I now pronounce you knotted; Boo and Bo knotted ties just last year & are now gifted with a bun in the oven.) Curiously, this cutesy expression leaves me frayed.
