There is actuallya little more to the story. We had 3 cats at the time and they never had any problem with us being away. This time it was winter in MI and the furnace died in our rental home. The house was so cold when we got back you could see your breath. She was telling me all about it. 🐈

We have a VERY vocal kitten who protests every time he finds himself on the wrong side of a closed door. LOUDLY. I really hope he grows out of it.
It ain't easy but you cannot reward the behavior, you have to let it extinguish. Difficult with kids, nearly impossible with cute little fuzzt kitties that purr loudly and want a cuddle!
Or she does not believe you cleaned yourself well enough after touching all those things out in this dirty world. She is doing that for your protection. 😽

When I got home from heart surgery, my wee void rested his head on my scar and pacemaker and purred for hours. He bumped it gently until it fully healed. They are amazing companions.
