This is an area that was solid red but is now moving purple. We've made so much progress. Our rep is really feeling the pressure, and he's making it harder for constituents to contact him.

@aoc.bsky.social We'd love to welcome you to west Michigan, where our rep hasn't held an in-person town hall since 2018, and recently told a local news station that he wants his constituents to stop calling his office.

He's absolutely right but it's bugging me that his Ukrainian flag pin is upside down.

Our white female ancestors played their own part in causing generations of trauma, and, fellow white women of today, we need to be part of the solution. We need to hold each other accountable for the injustices we are perpetrating now.

Why are any government employees expected to explain themselves to Elon Musk? *That* is the crux of the issue.

Well my MAGA Congressman hasn't held an in-person town hall since 2018. He does the occasional "telephone town hall" with pre-selected questions. The county Democrats (of which I am a proud and active member) are trying to get him to hold a legit town hall but he's stonewalling us.

He's not going to the game because it's in Boston, and he knows exactly what the people of Boston would do to him.

I’ve been emailing back and forth with his office. My emails contain two main points: concerns about that “department,” and asking him to hold a town hall. He told me not to worry about said “department,” and said nothing about a town hall. So I replied, asking him again. We’ll see how it goes.

Jacob. I can't find any source listing him as Jacobus, so it seems that's one of those family oral history things.

That was five days before the inauguration. I think they ended up inviting Capt Sully and maybe some others to the inauguration.

So yeah, I had a nasty cold for most of December (consistently tested negative for Covid), and now I’ve been exposed to Covid again and will probably be absolutely fine.

And then your scene partner—a total stranger—goes out of their way to say “that was amazing” to you afterwards and seems to genuinely mean it.
