My paper "IMDb and the Privatization of the Digital Commons" is finally out in glorious #OpenAccess! It's a history of IMDb (which is older than you'd think!) and its role in the process of capitalist accumulation of the fruits of collective digital labor - a phenomenon that is ramping up with AI.

Thinking about this more, has anyone written a history of student filmmaking? I'd love to read something about how iconic film theorists influenced the films produced by their students. It's just so lovely when student filmmakers try to incorporate theory into their work.
