Yes. Now I'll go read the article.

Came here to say that! Ancient arcade will catch me every time.

What boggles the mind is how his supporters don't see anything wrong with such behaviour. Except we have the Orange Baal, so the problem seems to be me.

Someone shared an obvious fake online news site in a local community WhatsApp group. When reading through the place, it seems superficially authoritative, but sentence structure & repetitive paragraphs screams AI. This will undoubtedly end up in a next round of AI slurp.

What is our vaccine situation? It seems South African authorities have abandoned any effort to keep up with new releases, or at least make boosters available? Am I looking in the wrong place?

Every time.

May I add anti-vax? He has zero introspection, and doubles down on his controversial takes.

You need everything you can when you wonder why you are there at that time facing 89 km of up and down road.... Mind you, I don't run. The wife does, I only support. And she's not doing the Comrades Marathon anymore.

It's difficult to monetize a system you can't game, or get nuked when you do try the old twitter shite.

Blood, bile, melancholy, and phlegm seems to be mainstream health care now. So let's complete the picture.

Or not... I kept getting told to stop listening to MSM. Except I don't watch TV & stop listening to radio when Biden stepped down. But I do listen to what the Orange Baal & his acolytes say. Their own words. And they still prostrate themselves.

South Africa are running nuts. I'm currently in the US & the wife was yelling at the tracking app at at the end of the race.

As a side note, I currently feel the DA is the only viable option (unfortunately), but they are far from perfect. Upper management ride the coat tails of the successful individuals. Zille is beyond her sell by date & Steenhuisen is a Trump acolyte. Suspect they are trying to woo the right wing.

Thank you for the share. Very good read & I would concur the broad outlines. The question you've now left in my mind, is to what extent are they trying to keep a low profile, biding their time? Solidariteit do have wide support, for their community efforts. Is this a long game?

Per definition, Afrikaners are white. It is white South Africans who speak Afrikaans. This is clearly explained in my pinned post. He is a white English South African. These 2 points don't absolve anyone from anything. However, Afrikaners does not own his sorry ass & South Africa doesn't want him.

You seem fixated on the one drop thing. It's a culture, not DNA. Having a granny or something in the past, is not going to change your culture. English schools, English churches etc. You're English. You don't need to have Afrikaner blood to be a total douche.

Speaking of engagement, have you seen the Delta safety video? Immediately thought of you when I saw this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnOL...

And that made my day, appreciate the note.

Nope. The Afrikaners were in charge. Apartheid and all that. I am not sure the end-post here. Elon & family are English. They benefited from apartheid being white. Simple as that.

I am confused. Why would you want to do that?

I am in no way defending him/his actions. He left South Africa to dodge military conscription. The rich was able to. The Afrikaner "refugee" thing is also just some scam by them. As far as we were able to find out, none of them were bona fide farmers and their Afrikaans bit is also highly suspect.

Like identifying porn - I know it when I see it :-) The cultural lines has blurred a lot over the last 30 years. Not obliterated, but back then it was clear. English & white your first language? English. Afrikaans & white? Afrikaner. Have to add the racial designation, Afrikaans is not exclusive.

Plausible deniability? I don't know the origin story. Imagine school kids with a word with double-meaning, like the Dutch word for cat... But why, I was only calling him a box...?
comment in response to post
If I had the time... Reality is, he went to a posh English school. His father & grandfather the not so posh Clapham High. At a time when no Afrikaner would sent their kids to an English school.

Salty-pricks - one foot in England, the other in South Africa. We are united behind "doos", widely used insult with universal meaning. I can't explain the concept, it goes beyond the English translation (c-word). I also noticed some online dictionaries skewed the word to something it never was.

Ooh, now you've put me in a spot. Not sure how relevant it still is in the modern context, the kid is always reprimanding me on not being with the new lingo. When I was a kid, we would talk about the rooinekke (red necks) referring to the sun burn the English got when landing in South Africa. Or

That is a real useful designation. Ironically, most South Africans does not agree with the narrative. Another case of an activist using a group against their wishes for own gain?

Even Thiel, a German & Sacks, a Jew is suddenly Afrikaners. When both of them spend most of their school days in the US. I also have to get of this soap box now. Thank you for reading, I appreciate the ear.

It did unite us more than can be measured. Crime is bad & affects all people. Our government is in denial of their corrupt role in crime. Scapegoating a cultural group due to his perceived membership of that group is a sore-point. Suddenly, all Afrikaners are corrupt genocidal Nazis. Even...

I apologise for & own my clumsy explanation. This is a sore point to most South Africans & most Afrikaners. I did benefit from apartheid. There is no denying that. Most whites still in South Africa are working hard to make amends. Most South Africans resent the "refugee" thing. Ironically....
comment in response to post
What is more relevant is their cultural background. He went to Pretoria Boys High. His father & grandfather to Clapham High. The first the rich English school, the other the poor kids.

Dutch word for German is Duits which became Dutch in the US. His mother's father was Pennsylvania Dutch, who came to South Africa via Canada. His father's side was English South African. Excluding his great-grandmother, the rest of the father's side trace back to England.
