Ironically, British style monarchy is perfect way of dealing with Trumps. One job legitimising election results. There nothing to overthrow as they have tenure. You make sure they have all the prestige and toadying any ego could ask for. Nobody else is allowed the job.

In a world where you have to say the 2020 election was stolen to keep your job this will force the right to embrace monarchy or be a lib. Best way to stop him would be have Barack march around saying I always loved monarchies how fabulously European

Lots of risk models being hastily updated today I’d say.

Having established itself as a serious place for news journalists writers etc, bluesky could try and tackle the seemingly insurmountable paywall issue as part of its business model. A more integrated experience of being able to pay per article would be astonishing.

Another day and lots to be said for constitutional monarchy.

Did a website just become a political party? The future consists of local elections being fought by global cyber-parties with their own app.

Peter Thiel, part of the Musk PayPal mafia, talking about Mimetic Theory. Want to know why people believe the economy is bad when it’s good and that people are being forcibly transitioned etc..then it’s worth understanding this theory because they appear to be proving it. youtu.be/esk7W9Jowtc?...

Someone called this mass exodus from Twitter ‘the fall of the Broman Empire’ and I died laughing. 💀

“Their little inheritors on toy tractors…” I’ve been looking for an expression of why the Liberal left keeps being kicked in the pants and it’s this attitude from Polly Toynbee.

Hurrah for us. It’s international men’s day! I know this only because a woman reminded me of course.

1/ CURRENCY GEOPOLITICS 🧵. In the 1870s, a rising power borrowed heavily from London at premium rates, then used that money to displace Sterling’s dominance. Today, China just borrowed dollars in Saudi Arabia at near-US rates. Here’s why this matters... www.ft.com/content/0d2a...

Harking back to original Day of the Jackal Eddie Redmayne is sporting a very natty neckerchief/cravat in The Jackal. I’ve always been fond of a cravat, a WW2 era Royal Navy uncle often wore one as they all wanted to be Noel Coward, I wonder if polymarket takes bets on resurgent fashion trends.
