This is the biggest Canada/Russia game since the 72 Challenge Series. 🇨🇦 🇷🇺 🇺🇸

Canadians on here actually being like "I can't believe how bad things are getting in the US" without acknowledging Alberta just passed some of the harshest anti-LGBTQ+ laws and are about to vote Doug Ford back into power. Wakeup because the far right are in inside the building

hell yes

Suggestion to @mark-carney.bsky.social RE: the idea of splitting the budget into operational and capital spending. I would suggest giving Canadians the ability to invest directly in the capital projects they support. I would invest some of my RRSP to get typical bond rates for high speed rail.

Same thing applies to Canada - unfortunately the (mostly conservative) provincial governments have been busy stripping the copper wiring out of ours in an attempt to save money, but perhaps the feds can step in.

"I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids!"

If no US journalists are making the obvious parallels between this and the upcoming US/Russia "peace" meetings, and the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, then you have no business calling yourself a journalist. www.economist.com/europe/2025/...

How is it that @scalzi.com released "The Kaiju Preservation Society" *three years ago* which is a perfect metaphor for everything happening today? The guy must be a goddamned wizard.

To everyone who claims that it's actually the Democratic party moving to the left - this guy was THE HEAD OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY only twenty years ago. And he's absolutely right about the mess going on down there.

Canadians are pretty boring and consistent. My entire life, all small talk was either weather or ice-related (hockey, curling, snow tire discussions). Almost instantly the new topic is US stuff you are choosing not to buy. It's literally a new national pastime. I have never seen anything like it.

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

Superbowl agenda: - Reading by the fire with my dog at my feet.

Unlike the last round of tariffs where we were not quite sure what kind of person Donald Trump was, and this was largely bluster leading up to "NAFTA 2.0", Canadians are viscerally way more pissed off this time around and far less willing to be pushed around. www.linkedin.com/pulse/dumbes...
