Wonder why Tom "Staff writer at the Atlantic" Nichols has such stupid views on protesting. I guess we'll never find out why.

I would be willing to take the "moderate issues do better in elections" crowd (Shor, Jain, Yglesias etc) a lot more seriously if they were actually honest about their strategy being a reflection of their own personal policy preferences rather than some grand infallible plan. You're not the Oracle.

Shor and Co have been ranting for years about how it would absolutely work if the Dems adopted their playbook. They got what they wanted, lost, and are now trying to relitigate 2024 by pretending that Harris was doing land acknowledgments at the DNC rather than reflect on their own failures.

my local dive bar has these channels on all the time, and I only truly understood why NY had gone insane during the 2022 midterms after spending time there

This is largely arguing on the margins (and not a criticism of your observation wholesale), but I do think there are significant merits to speaking as a coherent and consistent Caucus, even if purely symbolic, which is undermined by individual actors breaking the buck from the rest of the party.

You could arguably say the same about the House CR vote (passed anyways despite universal "no" Dem votes), but I do think that Jeffries having better approvals than Schumer is not unrelated to his ability to whip House Dems into acting with a unified voice, in contrast to the disjointed Senate.

This is probably going to get worse over time, as, unlike Leo, Francis spoke very little English and his teachings were relatively insulated from the Anglosphere, but if you're losing your mind over the Pope emphasising the important of faith in times of crisis, you should manage your expectations.

Terabytes of readily-available videos of Russian troops in Chinese Desertcross vehicles getting shredded by FPV drones, and this is the conclusion they came to

Probably won't happen because their gerrymandering operation puts the Texas GOP to shame, but pretty decent odds that their share of the popular vote falls below 55-60%, which would be a red alert for the PAP by itself.

A cabal of intellectually vacuous Silicon Valley leeches, who have grown fat and lazy off their miserable business ventures, persuaded it is their God-given right to decide the future of the world, and whose brains have been broken by their employees getting a modicum of rights during the pandemic.
