"President Trump: THIS is a dictator" nypost.com/cover/februa...

“President Trump’s pardons breathe new life into and embolden violent extremists, posing a real danger to our fellow Members of Congress and their staffs, the Capitol Police, and the millions of visitors to the Capitol each year.” www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

This is the closest photo of Saturn ever taken. 🔭 🧪

While this is an interesting comparison on some levels, how on earth do you make it with zero regard for Musk’s political extremism—his vast promotion of hateful far-right ideology, his election meddling, political lies and demagoguery? But he’s like Jack Welch, huh?? www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/b...

Continuity of government, especially involving national security, is vital to keeping America safe. But we’re watching the Trump White House rapidly disrupt and quite possibly endanger that continuity. At a minimum this will embolden our nation’s enemies. Every American should be worried about this.

Side note. There are eight members of the joint chiefs. the chair is black. the CNO (navy) is a woman. the other six are white guys. chair and the cno got fired tonight.

Beyond brazen, this is tantamount to Elon Musk extorting Ukraine with existential stakes — ‘Give us your wealth or your ability to battle Putin’s invading army will be severely compromised’ www.reuters.com/business/us-...

Trump fires Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., the Joint Chiefs Chairman—who is African American—after Pete Hegseth disparages the general for allegedly having a “woke” focus on diversity, equity and inclusion programs in the military www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

Of course AP can ignore how Trump wants to label a map… “This targeted attack on the AP’s editorial independence and ability to gather and report the news strikes at the very core of the First Amendment,” the news agency said. “This court should remedy it immediately.” apnews.com/article/ap-l...

When M. Gessen and Bret Stephens are 95% in agreement, that seems worth paying attention to… www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/o...

“Putin and Xi must be delighted. As Washington alienates its allies and squanders 80 years of international credibility, Trump is helping Russia and China achieve their explicit mission of replacing the United States as the world’s preeminent superpower.” www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

“Trump again raises idea of running for an unconstitutional third term” Also uses quote attributed to Napoleon and depicts himself as a king www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

LOL… I guess you can tell your reporting is spot-on and hitting a nerve when someone announces plans in advance to mock you for it www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

USDA says it accidentally fired officials working on bird flu and is trying to rehire them In a statement, an Agriculture Department spokesperson told NBC News that officials are "working to swiftly rectify the situation." www.nbcnews.com/politics/dog...

Top federal prosecutor in DC, appointed by Trump, who vowed "retribution" against his foes, targets Democrats for remarks he deems threatening. "Free speech has limits and threatening government workers crosses the line." www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

So what will Axios do if Trump decides six months from now to issue an executive order renaming it the Gulf of Trump? www.huffpost.com/entry/axios-...

“How regime change happens in America” — an exceptionally clear-eyed essay from @anneapplebaum.bsky.social on the rising danger of the Trump and Musk attack on the federal government. I urge you to read it in full. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

In the decade-plus I’ve reported on school and mass shootings, my inbox has had a steady stream of people pushing bogus claims about antidepressants causing the attacks. (Untrue.) Now those folks have a champion in the Trump administration: HHS Secretary RFK Jr. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

The acting head of the National Achives is stepping down, a week after his boss was fired, as Trump takes full control of US records. What could go wrong? www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

behold Trump’s golden age of America

SCOOP: Kash Patel failed to disclose companies he set up with a "close" friend that were involved in a million-dollar land deal. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

One of those things you hate to be right about. We covered this in many ways with our reporting at @motherjones.com throughout last year’s election, regarding what was to come with Project 2025 if Trump won www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

That humpback did not try to eat a kayaker, it was an extraordinary case of “wrong place at the wrong time.” Happy Friday. www.npr.org/2025/02/14/n...

Another vivid moment in Trump’s long campaign of attacking the First Amendment. No elected official, even the US president, gets to dictate how the free press reports news to the public, including how to label a map. Trump epitomizes why the framers of the constitution began with precisely this.

Deplorable. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones and who now must witness Trump making it even more possible that such tragedies will continue.

The Parkland high school massacre was 7 years ago today. Now, Trump is preparing to wipe out years of progress on gun violence, including support for red flag laws to remove guns from dangerously troubled people like the Parkland killer www.motherjones.com/politics/202... @motherjones.com

What a dumb policy. Bylines are for transparency so readers can understand who is responsible for info. Arbitrarily limiting them and removing contributing reporting lines altogether is backwards in a time when we should be more open about our work. talkingbiznews.com/media-news/w...

“We’ve given up everything to serve our country overseas,” one evacuated USAID employee recalled thinking, “and we’re being maligned by the richest asshole in the world.” www.motherjones.com/politics/202... Must-read reporting from @timothypmurphy.bsky.social and @abbyvesoulis.bsky.social

If you watched Elon Musk's sanctimonious lecturing from the Oval Office yesterday about DOGE and got the distinct sense he was bullshitting a bunch of stuff, you'll want to read this great little nugget of related reporting from @annamerlan.bsky.social www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Some January 6 video evidence has now disappeared from public access… www.npr.org/2025/02/11/n...

Bombshell news on Kash Patel: Sen. Dick Durbin says Patel covertly helped orchestrate a purge of career officials at the FBI and then apparently lied about it under oath. Durbin cites “highly credible information" from multiple whistleblowers www.nytimes.com/2025/02/11/u...

Incredible: Russ Vought’s daughter has cystic fibrosis and benefits from a “miracle drug” made possible by the National Institutes of Health—an agency Vought now aims to gut as part of the Project 2025 attack www.motherjones.com/politics/202... Scoop from @motherjones.com’s @metrauxjulia.bsky.social
