Rings Around The World and the follow-up, Phantom Power, are two of my favourite albums from the early 2000s, but I feel like that's a story best told for another day.

The album would be their last for popular independent label Creation Records.
Their next album, 2001's Rings Around The World, saw them now recording for major label Epic in the UK.
While they were popular in the UK, they never really caught on in North America.

A couple times I've started music writeups and realized it sounded more like therapy 😆

I feel like if anything a large chunk of Americans have devolved over the past 33 (?!) years.

Pretty sure that's impossible. I suck at pallets but know you need 2-3 people.
I'm sorry you had to deal with that. 😔

From this really interesting video with Spiller himself, he'd already recorded the demo and *that* was what played at Groovejet.

Spiller had heard the track while at a Miami Beach Club called Groovejet.
While it was Spiller's only major hit, Sophie Ellis-Bextor went on to a successful solo career in the UK as a dance-pop artist, most notably with her best-known hit "Murder On The Dance Floor".

Clocked up 16,194 at work today. Was on cash for a chunk of that or it might have wound up being more.
I'm fried.

Maybe I should post a bunch of selfies to weed out the boomers. 🤔

Cool sweater. I love cable knit. It's such a classic style but hard to come by.

Sidenote: I recently picked the CD single to this up for 50 cents second hand.

Modjo released one self-titled album before disbanding. They only scored one further UK Top 40 hit with "Chillin'"
That track sampled another Chic track, the legendary "Le Freak".

Same. I have to have my fans on in my apartment constantly (neighbour from Hell upstairs) and it makes it hard to listen to vinyl. 😔
