It wasn’t beneficial. In fact, because they have moved to a stance of consistently helping Republicans get elected, they’ve moved HARD right. The graphic should be a circle.

You know what, fair. I’ll concede that point.

We had 59 votes for Medicare for all. Thanks to Rs, needed 60. Revisionist history pretends Dems never wanted it. Now people like you say “the Dems are against universal healthcare” as if you honestly believe if it came to an up or down vote they’d vote against. Be so for real rn

The Left, who apparently think that saying the most progressive thing (with zero plan to implement it) makes you “progressive” turned to ONLY attack Dems, thus weakening the Left more.

In a desperate attempt to keep power out of the hands of obvious wannabe fascists, the Dems, seeing the threat, attempted to win whatever voters they could to not let the Rs win.

No, that’s reverse cause she effect Leftists abandoned Dems, tearing apart the only coalition that could have made progress on the issue. By doing this they empowered Republicans.

Yes, because they paid a MASSIVE political price for trying. The Left lied that they didn’t try to get a public option. The Right screamed “something something socialism death panels”. The Left then fully abandoned them and they got murdered in 2010

However, surely we can agree that going to the DNC doesn’t preclude one from being toxic towards Dems lol

I’m not implying that at all. I’m saying that Leftists do that. Constantly. I don’t presume to know your politics, but the fact that you acknowledged that they’ve moved left on a whole host of issues is heartening that you’re not unreasonable

That’s my point. Rather than shift the window, Leftists spend all their time attacking Dems, thus making them AND their fairly progressive positions seem unpopular. Maybe the Left should get on board?

Leftists don’t want to do the hard work of convincing voters of their positions. They’d rather just pillory Dems for not diving into the grenade sufficiently enough

The **country** moved right on immigration. Failing to move far enough right on immigration is fatal to Dems. Leftists get pissed that Dems won’t commit political suicide by running ahead of the voters on these issues, but they’ve become third rails

Those are all pretty normie liberal policies
comment in response to post
Oh fuck right the fuck off. Liberals have marched left, maybe slower than you’d like, but consistently in all that time. In order to keep their distance in the window, leftists nor say crazy stuff like “I’m an über double Marxist”

Unrelated, but if Elon is Trump’s Mario, who will be Elon’s Luigi? 🤔

Understood. My only point is that he easily inspires people who hear him to overcome any prejudices they might have I have Republican family members who cite him as “the only Dem that seems to hear them” which bodes well for him electorally. He sells Progressive policies to moderate Republicans.

Pete won in Iowa in 2020. He’s well liked by swing voters. Let’s not constrain him by what we think others might or might not be ok with. If *you* have a problem with it, say that. Otherwise, like who you like.

What is the “something”? Because they did A LOT of things during Biden’s term, and got very little credit for doing them. Does that not point to messaging? Or media ecosystem issues?
comment in response to post
Absolutely not. He’s not a “press Secretary”. He could just start running for POTUS now. Why not suggest that?

Why is this a choice? See: Obama

Guilt you? JFC Me pointing out that you’re repeating nonsensical talking points designed by right-wing think tanks to sow division on the left isn’t “guilt”. It’s just noticing you’re a useful tool lol
