I’ve seen a couple of outlets trying to track that down. I don’t think anyone has the totals yet. I feel like someone should know that, though.

Your district also has a lot of federal employees. What are you doing to help stop the illegal firings and drastic budget cuts?

Can you share your plan to stop this with us?

This is at the heart of the grief we feel at the firing of Federal scientists. Scientists go to school and train for years, and mostly don’t get rich or work easy hours. Why?
Because we get to look at the stars. We get to ask questions, and to try to use the answers to help people.

Just so it’s not ambiguous, I wasn’t fired today. I’m not sure how much more of this I can take, but for now I’m doing what I can.

Isn’t there an old ecology or stats paper about the habitat of montane unicorns? Maybe that could be the basis of a unicorn map. #gischat

Maybe. It looks they might have put the icon for the white house in the EEZ for Mexico. #gischat

Tap dance! Music + exercise + making noise is super cathartic. (Or just put on some music and stomp around.)

I hadn’t thought of that, but it might just be that simple.

It used to be called the Powerhouse Science Center. They changed the name when it moved to its current location a few years ago.
