I am super excited to say that both of our Dyslexia Delphi papers have been published today! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.... and acamh.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

New meta-analysis: "Early numeracy does not merely serve as a steppingstone with temporary effects on foundational mathematics; instead, it likely triggers a snowballing effect, cumulatively influencing mathematics development over time" psycnet.apa.org/record/2025-...

The NRP Report (2000) found that independent silent reading may not be the most efficient use of instructional time. In our study, we replicated the finding. We found that independent reading didn't contribute meaningfully to improved reading outcomes. 🔗 shorturl.at/ZeBJz 🔗 shorturl.at/BZBpt

My book on reading instruction will be free for the next 3 days, for the ebook format. There will be a new edition coming out in 2025 and this will be your last chance to get the first edition free. a.co/d/cNqvBBx

Excited to kick off our module "Grant writing & #SciComm" in our MSc programme #rmGBH @ntrbiopsy.bsky.social! Interested in why people differ? How genes and environments interact? Like data? vu.nl/genes 🧬👨‍👩‍👧Our MSc is a springboard to a career in @behaviorgenetic.bsky.social 🚀.

I have updated my #SOR starter pack (go.bsky.app/DrhYgSX) and my two related lists: One includes SOR practitioners & scientists bsky.app/profile/jodi... And one is SOR scientists & a few other key accounts in related fields: bsky.app/profile/jodi... #EduSky #Scienceofreading #structuredliteracy

Czy problemy z prawidłową artykulacją słów w dzieciństwie są czynnikiem ryzyka problemów z czytaniem (i szerzej językowych)? Metaanaliza @melbylervag.bsky.social i współpracowników pokazuje, że tak.

Important implications for instruction and assessment in this terrific piece on reading comprehension and the challenge of differentiating it from other components of reading, via Hugh Catts & Alan Kamhi. www.aft.org/ae/winter202...

New preprint from the lab: the geometric regularity effect in quadrilaterals, which we documented in the visual modality with @mathiassablemeyer.bsky.social, is also present in the tactile modality in congenitally blind participants— hence likely arising from an amodal Language-of-Thought.
