It's also a sprawling car-centric city.
Feels like it's a great environment for military vehicles to roam. All while keeping potential protestors, who otherwise would coordinate on foot, siloed from one another by locking down streets.

Agree tht nationalizing the Guard is something you build up to over many months/years
What gives me pause though is the wildcard, Fox, have kept their narrative of the 2020 protests in the public consciousness, so Miller will frame this as a continuation of responding to that "lawlessness" of 2020

Immediately thought of this classic while watching the Sabrina Carpenter vid. Had no idea it was the same directors 😮. Gotta find more of their stuff.

This is why I don't let the lies that "both parties are the same" or "things can't get any worse" go unchecked.
The ppl that SHOULD know better talk about harm reduction as a philosophical disagreement, instead of actual lives destroyed b/c we fuck around and let fascists take control of the fedgov

2000: "both parties are the same"
Result: 100,000+ Iraqi civilians dead
2016: "both parties are the same"
Result: 1.2 million (and still rising) Americans dead from COVID
2024: "both parties are the same."
Result: 300,000 (and still rising) worldwide dead b/c of illegal shuttering of USAID.

*non-Black people.
We consistently see this shit for what it is well before it happens, and vote accordingly 🤷🏿♂️

also, maybe people would trust the news media more if we didn't give platforms to open liars

Conservatives are so used to running to the "that's socialism!" corner in discussions like this.
But what they don't understand is that once you show your whole ass as fascists, who, by nature, are anti-freedom, crying about us taxing the rich to pay for M4A as being "anti-freedom" is a joke.

Was really hoping that AOC endorsement would be the big story today.

Optimistic take: The GOP coalition truly fractures over this. Elon-cult vs Trump-cult, with enough AfriMuskers in Congress to scuttle this bill (and others), which slows down the GOP agenda so much so that media/the public finally turns on them.

Pessimistic take: Wildcard is the techno-fascists have their "inside-man" in JD. So not out of realm of possibility they escalate to 25th-ing, install Vance. Things then get worse, quick, b/c they've already experienced how easy it is to just ignore Congress/Constitution/Courts with little pushback.

Ah so Lankford was tapped to unveil the lie that all GOP senators/fox, (and then corporate media) are going to go with to pass this thing.
Cool cool cool.

NeverTrump conservatives would be useful if they acknowledged where their ideology and politics were wrong, and explain what they have done/are doing to change.
But they never take personal responsibility for how we got here.

Yes, and, handouts are fine too.
Never cede an inch to fascists.

to be fair almost every Republican/Trumpist complaint about almost anything is just a poorly disguised version of “there are too many black people"

And the only way to combat this is to give every person that votes to hurt others a zero, and bar them from ever taking the class again.

Duffy is just saying the things all conservatives say after they've watched too many Batman movies.

So much of mainstream press has become so intellectually lazy.
"It's too difficult to determine the truth, so let's just be stenographers of rhetoric."

Genuinely curious if white Europeans understand that they need to crush their fascist and neo-nazi parties out of existence?
Hungary, Italy, Brexit, Le Pen ONLY banned for 5yrs 🤦🏿♂️, afd, etc
If they don't understand that, as white Americans have never understood, then we're all in even deeper shit
