On this day, 42 years ago, the M*A*S*H finale “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen” aired on CBS. The two and half hour episode achieved a rating of 60.3 and was watched by 105,970,000 in the U.S.

Robert Altman’s movie M*A*S*H (1970) was released in theaters 55 years ago today! The anti-war, dark comedy set in the Korean War did better than expected at the box office, and it spawned the television series, M*A*S*H, that aired for 11 seasons on CBS.
