The homie @buttonmasher.bsky.social always comes to mind for this stuff!

dude, same for that insanely stunning chrono-trigger-y RPG you're doing, that bowled me over when I saw the debut trailer!

Your stuff is literally always insane. Permanently mind-blown by the writing on display-- fantastic work, like usual!

I love every one of these composers, but I think the percentage of population who’d think of them when they hear the words “film composer” is almost definitely a rounding error. John Williams and Hans Zimmer all but OWN the term in the popular imagination 😅

the way someone told me "make an angry face" and I just thought EVERYONE WAS DOING IT

Now, initial is intentional because if we have a couple prominent examples of Japanese creators getting held up by ICE or failing to make it in, I think this could change really fast…

Honestly, I’m not convinced it’ll have a ton of initial impact on anime-based events sourcing talent from Japan. Coming back from there just now, the overwhelming vibe I’ve got from my Japanese collaborators is that a lot of the news from America isn’t reaching them in detail.

Coke works well for this, too! I've always just told people "sorry, I don't drink." If you're intentional with it, they normally back off. If they don't, then they're TRYING to push you into vulnerability, in which case you need to avoid that person asap and get outta there!

Having now joined the world of external development… Well, if you’ve ever wanted the chance to work together on making your game sound even more amazing, let’s do it! For the first time in years, I’m actually available for those sorts of things 😅

They’ve previously worked on music, sound, tech, or VO for a massive range of titles that includes (amongst so many others) Horizon Forbidden West, Gears of War, Warhammer, FIFA, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Doctor Who, and many dozens of other spectacular franchises across the world of media!

Tencent has been a company that taught me a lot, gave me a ton of opportunities to grow, and ultimately has formed kind of the bedrock of my career in video game audio. It will always be a part of me! ...So, what's around the bend? Well, you'll just have to wait and see 😉

I'm tremendously grateful to my entire team (both current and those no longer at the company over the years) for everything we experienced together. It has been a ride!

"The Study of Game Music" matches the syllable count for "Ludomusicology" lol

I think I'd say it's theoretically possible, but the key part is that you basically have to be AVAILABLE for unhealthy hours. Whether or not the calls or emergencies happen in ways that actually require those specific hours is more or less random, but you prob gotta be open to it somewhat for a shot

110%. I sometimes look back and realize how dumb lucky I was that some of the first instruments I had (cheap knockoffs that were sold in my local music shop) just happened to be decent enough that they didn't scare me off by being functionally unplayable.

And when you find that instrument... Oh boy. It feels like you're taking off a burly overcoat or sunglasses or something. Everything just comes into focus.

He def does good videos! And yeah, I bet it’s great. I’ve got a soft spot for super strats, and a gradient quilt top? Ugh, just the best vibes.

This was so much fun that it inspired a special end credits variant, where I brought @jessezuretti.bsky.social aboard to produce a special argent metal version inspired by the Doom franchise. Needless to say, Jesse NAILED it, and we had a ball.

It's a game of the generation; can't imagine a more deserving title. Everyone absolutely nailed it!

Look, I was in your class. I wasn’t exactly the strongest student, academically 😅 I made up for it with chutzpah!

It’s sorta parallel? There are like 5 or 6 random ways to access that part of the intraweb, and I always get confused which one leads to MY records versus my CLASS’S records
