What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over-
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
IT COMES TRUE!!!!

It also helps that her brother is Peter, nbc corespondent, which helped get her story and the disease out.
It sounds like with age, you've accepted your hearing los (which is a lot of her messaging- learning how to accept, live and thrive with what is happening to you)

Big Data is reading.
It's probably her. She kind of the unofficial face of the disease (strange thing to say). She's just a magnetic force- on the surface she's attractive and fit, dig deeper she's smart and fun, dig yet deeper... oh wow, you're dealing with what?

Apparently his books aren't very well researched, as it took me all of 20 seconds to learn that there are 17 states where the sale of at least some alcohol is controlled by the state

IMO, as designed, It's not a platform for teachers. We don't "network" in the traditional (corporate) sense.
Like you, for me, It's basically a FB/social network for those i taught.
Instead of pictures of dinner, it's new jobs.

"I think Bigfoot is blurry; that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry and that's extra scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. 'Run, he's fuzzy, get out of here.'"

If you get around to watching it, I'd love to know your thoughts.
It has a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 8.1/10 on IMDB, so while not hugely popular, has gotten good reviews.

Also, is this random gif I found @victoriathetech.bsky.social? Those are the same very distinct glasses, no?

It's not very well known- a very quirky, fun but dark, claymation.
Strange mix of a child-like medium but with very mature themes.

You made me do it.
I've never been a big movie guy and pretty much stopped keeping up with them around 2010, but these are the ones that actually stayed with me over the years.

Have I mentioned my best friend from college? She has ushers iii, a progressive loss of hearing AND vision. We've fallen out of touch, but a she wrote a book and speaks, a lot being on acceptance, being true to herself and in turn, those around her. Rebecca Alexander

I live in CO and have a whole slew on snarky emails I've sent to employers. On this one I asked for the salary range, just to make sure a conversation was worth (both of) our time & they said they'd tell me after the interview. I denied the interview request and sent this.

For a while www.ciee.org had the clause
"Location Requirements: The position is available to applicants in the United States, except for applicants residing in: Washington (state), Colorado, California, Jersey City, NJ" on all their remote positions. Which pretty much tells you where it's required

I get waiting until contracts are signed to release other potentially qualified candidates, but still... Some sort of follow through doesn't feel like it's asking much.

Some states it's mandatory (including mine, CO) and I will write them a firm email that by law they have to disclose a salary range (they usually ghost me after that).

I once ended up having like 5 interviews for a job, all by higher ups. The position said "some travel" so everytime I asked, how much. 5th interview, "3-4 nights *a week*"
Why waste so much of all of our time?

Sounds about right. I have no record, but imagine that I never heard back from ~50% of the positions I applied for...

Um... that's incredible.
Don't quite get how sterile the kitchen is in an otherwise immaculately decorated house... but hot damn.
How's that area? I went to AA, back in the day I know GP is money, and there was more crime closer to downtown.

Wasn't even a "we've chosen another candidate" it was a full on "we decided not to hire for the position"
Ten months to figure that out

I'm working as an independent contractor ~2/3-3/4 time, so I was happy to do life's heavy lifting during the school year. But now that she's on summer break I'm like, um... I have to work, you literally have nothing, feel free to take *some* of the things off my plate...

At the end of freshman year, my roommate was studying, stressed about finals. I was probably downloading music off limewire or something equally silly. He turns and asks "why do you even bother buying books?"
I have a wiseass remark for most things, I did not have a rebuttal.

💯 there needs to be accountability, i just want people to be aware of their own biases in calling out "the other side" when our people have done similar offenses.
The Dems passively extended rules, the GOP takes that precedent and goes go the extreme...

There's also this version with more angst.
Franti started his career with lots of lyrics focused on political activism and social commentary... he's gone way more "pop" over the years.

Is that where we draw the line? We can't be blind to the fact both parties perpetually push boundaries, Cheeto more than most.
This whole thing is fucked- it was him that backed out of the Iran Nuclear Deal. Then 8yrs later say "we'll give them 2 weeks to negotiate" then bomb them 2 days later

Obama bombed Libya
Biden airstrikes on Syria and Iraq
Does that make it right? Obviously not. But as much as we despise this man, we can't only get worked up when he does the things they all do.
