What Heritage is doing is working with the far right oppsition in Poland to undermine the current government.

The article also makes clear that the illiberal forces it talks about in Poland are the PiS - ie the party Tusk defeated at the last election.

There’s plenty to criticize him on - his immigration policy is downright nasty - but he’s certainly not a friend of either Putin or Trump.

What? I promise you Donald Tusk, ex president of the European Council and the prime minister who has lead Poland to back Ukraine since he took office, does not want to do Putin’s bidding or destroy the EU.

2. The main reason bills have stayed high is high gas prices. I've said this many times before, but it is still true.
Britain has high energy bills because it relies on international gas markets, where gas is expensive, and because gas also heavily influences the price of electricity.

I mean at least some of the time it’s got to be teenagers being edgy little shits and giving an answer they think adults will find shocking, as they have always done and always will.

It absolutely can’t be the only reason, but I can easily imagine why young women might not want to date or sleep with young men who may or may not be fixated on the output of Andrew Tate. For straightforward reasons of self-protection, if nothing else.

Hard not to connect this to the right’s increasing endorsement of manosphere politics.

Well, setting aside the question of whether a great man theory of history is justifiable to start with, a significant portion of people typically identified as ‘great men’ were people who obtained high status by accident of birth. So not really, no.

Nervous Musk, Trump, Vance have all been outclassed in public arguments these last few days. Government failure, stock market crash, and dictatorial alliances are not popular. People are starting to realize that there is no truth here beyond the desire for personal wealth and power. (2/2)

You can be on the side of your friends and neighbours. You cans protect what you love. Or you can put on a pair of jackboots, but we all know where that leads - to destruction. So don’t. You don’t have to.

You can reconsider. You can think about why you felt uncomfortable and afraid in a way that let you be manipulated, and whether you really endorse those feelings now you know where they lead. You can do it in the privacy of your own head, even. No one will shout at you for doing it.

Merely being clear and insistent about your needs doesn’t work, particularly if you are working class, not white, or anyone a service is likely to profile as having mental health or substance misuse issues.
