should rephrase, by not formally studying psych i mean not getting a masters in it and not going through the formalities of officially becoming a regular therapist

context: she practices a type of therapy modality i'd like to try that you get a separate certification for, but you don't need to have formally studied psych in order to get it. it sounds sus but i've done my research so i trust her i got another meeting w/ an actual psychologist soon so we'll see

we ended up talking for 50 mins instead of the scheduled 30 lol she's really chill and i feel like we have a lot in common when it comes to our worldviews but she's not a licensed therapist so she can't talk about stuff like official diagnoses or medication
